hey,ive just bought a used ford ikon 1.6 for 1.40k done 24000 kms....but i got around 40k less on the car since it belonged to a cousin.....the car your talking about should go for around 1.70k.
dont buy an ikon from a dealer..u never know wht kind of a car you may get...remember the ikon is VERY HEAVY on petrol..MAINTAINENCE cost are high too....so far for me no trouble so far...good power..comfy...awesome a/c...good handling..BUT BAD BRAKES...thts all.
CHECK MY IKON IN my bhp garage

i think 2.0 Laks is the current market price in coimbatore.Mumbai is a different story than coimbatore boy.

Are you sure wanna buy a non production car (I mean 1.6 version).

No problems whatsoever, I think he's being cautious and referring to availability of spares etc in the future....AFAIK, there will be no issues about this for at least the next five years

i feel 2.25 for a 2000 model which has done 65k is little high, you can try bargaining.

what is your budget if your budget not a constarint look into the used honda city also, maintenance is comparatively cheaper.

2000 model is not worth more than 1.75 lakhs even here in chennai. dont get carried away by the sales pitch that it is a 1.6, fully loaded etc. first check if the mileage is genuine. ask for maintanence records. if you feel the car is in great condition & genuine, maybe 10k more thats all. damn, the car is 6 years old.

As Thil said resale value at Mumbai is a different story altogether.

Is it Life time tax or annual tax?
How many transfers had happened in the book?

2.25 is definetly costly.you have to get him down to atleast 1.90k.ford does not have tht good a resale value.
you could come to mumbai and get yourtself an ikon 1.6 for much much cheaper...
my cars actuall rate is 1.80 in mumbai with comp and 25k on the clock...so a 65kms on the clock should be much cheaper.
heres wht i got....

this is without tints and chrome show grill and old no.plate

and now the other grille...tints and changed no.plate

Ranjith...I had bought a 2000 Model 1.6ZXi two years back @ 2.25Lacs. It had done around 62K. I think the current price that you are getting is defenitely pricy, even though it is coimbatore. 1.8 Lacs should be a good price as currently if I sell my Ikon in Mumbai, I won't get more than 1.6 lacs.
