Actually your budget allows you to go a class higher and you could choose between the corolla,elantra and lancer cedia.A higher class model would give you a better experience.

I think the original post is to decide on whether to go for a diesel car or petrol car. But the discussion goes on as to which car to buy. I will be interested to know really, what are the factors that favour diesel cars.

IMHO the only factor that favours diesel is cost of running i.e. diesel. All other factors are moreover simmilar to petrol like:

Service after 10K
3000 rs per paid service

But mind it diesel has more maintainence than petrol cars. We have a Alto being used for 6 years as a office car and its service schedule was:

1st service 1k
2nd 10 K
3rd 25K
4th 30K
5th 48K

and the list goes on. So if diesel can survive such tough service schedules then there is not much difference.

Thanks folks for all the advice.. Well, I need a lot more features than whats offered in the Verna VGT. Its really got nothing!?!! Is the top end being launched anytime soon? I am in no hurry.. Can wait till next year too.
