Baleno LXi's OTR price was 5.70L here in chennai. But i am not sure you will find one anywhere right now as it is discontinued. Though my handle suggests i am an esteem lover, i will not recommend you to buy a new esteem for that price at this moment since it is a very old car. If you really want an esteem for its driving pleasure, get an used one for 3.0L. It should serve your purpose. Else look for better options in that price range.
cheers

P.S. Mind you, even an old esteem can really kick-a.s.s.

Dude..why dont you wait for couple of weeks more till things get clear from Renaults side???

if they price logan at almost same price..i feel that would be a better choice than an esteen.

if you have no hurrys..why not wait for another couple of weeks..

Atleast after the launch of logan, Maruti will be forced to give some more discount on esteem

I looked for a new Baleno, but the dealers were in Bangalore are quoting 6.3 on road for the LXi. Why is there such a big diff between Bangalore and chennai?

ad75, I'd suggest you get a 2005 used Esteem at well under 4L. Or as rajshenoy says, wait till M&M-Renault make some firm announcements

@wizardofid : Bangalore has among the highest road taxes in India. Which explains the huge difference in OTR prices.
