Hello Folks,
I am new to the group and this is my first posting . Just want to get a feel on how everyone thinks about the new esteem - with the tubeless tires and at a reasonable price . Apart from being flimsy , what other problems does it have ?
I am sort of lured by its price tag .
Please advice
thx

hey harifire

the new esteem is really good if ur lookin for a small car and not lookin for somethin big and flashy and powerfull if u jus need it for takin u to work n bak or maybe an occasional family drive its kool but if u want 5 ppl to be stuffed in the car for a long trip its kinda uncomfortable and if u put luggage in the boot then thrs 10/10 chance tht ur gonnaa scrape ur chassi a couple of times.....

so if u jus need it in the city (not to show off) its a steal

The MPFI Esteems are really fast.. but only in a straight line. Horrible horrible handling. I use an Esteem too. Nice car to drive around the city. Efficient enough. Bad suspension. Not enough space.

Folks,
Thanks for the super quick replies. I got a chance to look at the Fiat Petra reviews. So far , every single on of them are good . It is about the same price as the Esteem . I am strongly considering Petra now .
Thanks again !!

Yes, The Petras reviews are awesome. But from what i have heard on this site Fiat's after sales service is the pits. So be wary about that. On its own the Petra is a fantastic car and its being sold at an awesome price too.

yeah dude

maruti after sales service is uncomparable its one of the best and spare parts are also easily available and not too expensive...so i still feel the esteem would be a better option

just keep two thing in mind while considering the Petra
1. Its FE is pretty low ( this is important with the increasing fuel prices).
2. Poor resale value.

for me
if u arnt fussy about FE and a slowly improving a.s.s then go for the petra
it bigger, better built, better VFM , very very comfortable , very safe etc.
the esteem in contrast is more FE and has better a.s.s but is very unsafe and flimsy
go see the petra and u will know what i mean
cheers
