New corolla 2005 has ABS also. Is here any comparison report available between Corolla 2005 and Skoda Rider turbo jet?.
I would like to compare all aspects like comfort, feature, maintenance, cost, FE, resale value etc.,
Hope the ground clearance problem has taken care in Skoda Rider Turbo jet.
Please throw some light on this.

rider turbojet???
the rider 1.8 is faster and more comfortable and more solid but the corolla is bigger, cheaper to own, has good FE and resale in comparision with the octy
the corolla however i feel is more for normal people whodont know a thing about cars while the octy1.8 is for us with cars in our blood

corolla is bigger? corolla is for "normal" people? I got a RS and I think I am quite "normal" :-)

seriously. if the 2004 corolla did not roll like it did i might have got the corolla G over the RS. Neither is a bad car. The corolla has better FE the Rider is more solid. Drive both.

I like both the cars very much, the octy is very solid car as told by navin and the Corolla is very reliable car with good FE and performance too.

hey guys whats the difference b/w skoda Rally sport (RS) and Turbo rider/jet (whatever)... do both the cars cross 100kmph in same time..??..

yup. difference. about rs. 1.78L. mostly cosmetics. RS has headlight washers, sun roof, rear spoiler, body effects, black leather interiors, SS pedals, chrome exhaust, etc.

besides the RS has snob value and i suspect when your car goes for servicing they will know that you are a car buff and respect that. I know "racer-boy" cars are paid more attention to by German dealers.

not to forget Xenon lamps.

i said etc. :-) even the stereo is inferior in the rider. my RS came with a alpine 9833 and blaupunkt speakers. one reason i got the RS v/s the corolla auto was the audio system. the corolla audio system was a pain to upgrade (it required getting a special harness and mounting bracket etc...).

corolla audio system is quite good man
normal person as in a person who is a layman when it comes to cars
for him a toyota will be better because im sure he will like to be cheaffuer driven

This is easy. Octavia Rider Turbo petrol it is! No doubt about it!

Chauffer driven :- Corolla....octavia loses out coz the cars overall comfort level specially the back seat is horrible

Self driven :- The RS....the sound of the turbo is divine...and the kick it punches is pure adernaline rush!!

Well, the Corolla may have more space, but it's ride is terrible! So if by comfort you mean "more interior room" then yea, the Corolla is better. But if your definition of comfort also includes a great ride over our roads, then the Corolla is the worst C+ segment car you could buy.

Save your money and get an Optra instead. It gives you space and comfort.

i agree with r tech here. the corolla does offer a bit more room (not much) but the octavia (all versions) offers a nicer ride.

No one talks about ground clearence issue in Skoda.( I think it is 134mm VS 180mm in corolla)

That's because it's not really an issue. The lowest point on the Skoda is the engine gaurd, which is not a problem if you scrape it.

The excessive height of the Corolla not only makes it look ugly, it also adversely affects its handling dynamics.
