The viva CRDi is a good buy, but i didnt suggest it in my earlier post because neo didnt ask for a diesel vehicle...
But neways the CRDi is a really good combination of power and economy on this side of octavia 1.9 TDi, good interiors, decent space, but engine could be a little noisy for your liking, its a good option that is if you dont mind having a car that can get tail happy.

Hi
My dad's got an Ikon 1.6 and i have driven it a few times to college. I was able to stretch the FE to 14kpl with about 60% city driving(ac on most of the time ). Half the time i drove in neutral heheh...My car does close to 135 in 3rd gear(speedo). The best part of the car was its superb steering response .

Anyway, i wanted to ask 2 questions more out of frustration than anything else

1. Ford is such a big global manufacturer.... Cant they make a car with good brakes? The brakes are very grabby and also lack stopping power. Is making brakes with proper feel that difficult? Or are they that expensive? A lot of the cars even in the B segment come with better brakes than the Ikon.

2. Cant Ford make noiseless suspension? The suspension is pretty noisy compared to other cars. Even the 800's suspension does not make this much noise. I dont know whether the newer ikons are any better.

Thanx
Mayur

When i test drove the ford ikon the other day before booking the car, the car had pretty bad brakes.I think the brakes have been upgraded in the newer models.Even i was surprised when i saw the autocar stats showing that the ford ikon has the best braking in its class. The car takes 27.84m while the next best car is baleno which takes 28.7 to brake from 80-0 kmph.

Will give my opinion about the braking, after i take delivery of the ikon on Wednesday.

hey neo enjoy the ikon
the brakes are good but after repeated hard braking they tend to fade so i am guessing that ACI took the first set of timings and distance they got.
offtopic question but which is bigger
accent or nexia

Not hearing this for first time. This is exactly the comment made by one of my colleague, who owns an 800, when he was traveling with my manager in his ikon.

My friend who owns a flair told me the same. And this doesn't happen if there are people sitting in the back.

The Honda city has an ex-factory price of 6.7 which comes upto almost 7.8 on road after the road-tax... , which is way over my budget. The prices which are advertised are usually the ex-factory prices, to which you will have to add the taxes and insurance. The taxes vary from state to state. In Bangalore ( Karnataka ), you can get an approx price by adding around 14% to the ex-factory price. Its just an approximate.

Model Invoice Insurance Road Tax On Road Cost

CITY
Honda 1.5 Exi 672295 23428 78956 774679
Honda 1.5 Gxi 722784 25129 84507 832420
Honda CVT 783355 27169 91170 901694
