Second Hand Elantra?

My monthly commute is 2500 kms. Was considering a new SX4 with a CNG kit. But most people have advised me to stay away from idea and get a diesel.

I require space+features. Please advise about used elantra

1. What mileage I can get?
2. Which model (budget4.5-5.5L)
3. Maintenance costs?

Anybody selling the elantra crdi, please get in touch.

Thanks

Hey bro,
The elantra is a really capable car which is fully loaded.
The CRDi motor is very powerful and should give you around 12in city. Do a search in the forum for the ELantra CRDi and see what FE the owners get.
You should be able to get a 2005 model.

Elantra has some logistic issue with its spare parts.I have seen couple of Elantra lying in Hyundai workshop for n number of months.

For 2nd hand reliable cars, my suggestion would be Baleno, Fiesta or Honda City. Again its real good luck thats required to get hold of a good second hand car.

Elantra's are rare and it is not a very successful car.
The resale value is bad. You can push in for late 2005 or early 2006 model for your budget.

Check it out with A.S & S. before zeroing in.

AFA ecomomy figures are concerned, well, expect around 10-12 kmpl in city and 14-16 on highways.

O.T. The Fuel Efficinecy ( FE ) are approximate figures that I heard long back when went to Hyundai dealer to inquire about Santro for friend. There I met a crdi owner.

Elantra is a good buy, but i doubt if it can give 12kmpl in city. Resale is poor, so you might get a good one for 4.5 to 5l

elantra is a good option, you could also consider the octavia-rider.
you can definitely get both the cars, in good shape in your given price range.
dealers always want great prices for their cars, so bargaining always helps. say 2006 skoda-octavia-rider, dont pay a penny over 6-6.25L. the elantra shold come in a bit cheaper even, 6L max.
