Baleno Users-Your thoughts pls

Hi folks,

I am Krishna, a newbie here. Would be helpful if you could share your thoughts on Baleno with these specs:

Model: 2003 Baleno Vxi
Kms: 28000
Dealer: True Value, Chennai
Insurance: Comprehensive valid until June '09
Price: 3.2L
Colour: Pearl Silver
Music: Kenwood audio (No CD)

Test Drive was good and dealer assures nothing, not even oil, needs to be changed/repaired.
Alloy wheel with original tyres, May 2003, pointing to no tampering with odo probably?
Insurance with Maruti done in June '08 states book value of car around 2.9L

Concerns:
- Insurance docs available from June '08 only. Does this mean something?
- I might not get a objective evaluation done by another mechanic. Is this necessary, considering we are dealing with True Value?
- Does True Value also look into condition of A/C, accessories, etc?
- The dealer started at 3.6L and came down to 3.2L in a span of 10 min and this car arrived just 2 days back. Either I am a good negotiator or there is something fishy!
- Can I expect any resale value at all in another 3 years, considering Baleno is no longer in production or does it make sense to go with the Fords, OHC, Accents of this world? My budget is max of 3.5L.

Generally, TrueValue wont cheat.
The price quoted to you is somewhat high. It must be around 3.0 lakhs. But the Maruti True Value are always a bit higher.
I think that you are getting 6 months warranty here.

If you feel like, you can get the evaluation done, but again the best place will be M.A.S.S., and generally they dont cheat.

Yes, true value does look in to A/C, accessories, etc and more than that. The entire car is evaluated.

Baleno has very bad resale value. Mostly that's why he came donw to 3.2 lakhs from 3.6 lakhs. Try to go for the deal at 3.0 lakhs.

After 3 years, the resale value wont be good.

The resale will be extremely poor 3 years down the line
Try for some accents as they are still in production and till now Hyundai has not made any statement about its discontinuation ( in fact it has launched a new LPG/CNG {Not sure} Variant)

3.2 Lakhs is slightly more. Try for 3 lakh and as it is True value, i have heard from mostly all that it's cars are properly checked and evaluated

Shuttling between Chennai & Bangalore these days. Would know my permanent base in 6 months time and have heard that Bangalore used car market is costlier than Chennai.
