Wait for Tata Indigo Vista or buy Swift DZIRE / Ford IKON

As many of you might know , I have been a happy and extremely satisfied owner of 2 Indica Xetas ( both Salsa red ! )for past 3 years.

Sold off the first Xeta ( which is 3 years old ) for 1.80 L - don't be shocked , as my car did not possess a single scratch / dimple, was waxed regularly , and service was done according to intervals. It is one of the most well maintained Xetas on the road , and so is my second Xeta (2 years old ) which is still with me.

Things have changed ( I mean sedan's have become cheaper )and now I feel it's time to buy a sedan.

I have a tight budget of 6 L.

I would love to buy a TATA car again , for their robust body that saved my life when I had a huge accident with my Indica. I had hit damn at the back of a bus at 70 kmph. Everyone thought I was dead , though I am still writing now.

Back to topic , I have shortlisted the following cars :

Indigo Vista
Indigo CS
Swift Dzire
Ford Ikon

Indigo Vista seems appealing , and the latest FIRE ( fully integreted robotised engine ) petrol engine is very attractive. If milleage is in 11 - 12 kmpl , I will get the petrol one , otherwise Multijet is the way to go. Both are good engines.

Indigo CS is a bit old , I want a fresh newly launched car.

Swift Dzire is good , but by the time I receive the car Indigo Vista will be launched.

Ikon is good to drive , again it's nothing but old rum in a new bottle.

So should I wait for Indigo Vista or buy any of the above cas ?

Also , Honda Jazz ,though not a Sedan interested my. Should i wait for both Jazz and Vista to be released ?

I would suggest an indigo CS petrol, or a vista quadrajet.

If you are planning to wait for the indigo vista, chances are , it will be launched only after the grande punto is launched

A true blue TATA fan ! Why are you even thinking of a maruti and that too the claustrophobic swift. Wait for the Indigo Vista, you would be one of the first few to own it on road. ( and of course the nitty-gritty associated with a new TATA car)

Since you have been happy with TATA, I suggest you wait for the Indigo Vista. That is of course if you really want a sedan. Remember the Indica Vista is a quite spacious and so is the boot. The only advantage with the Indigo Vista will be a bigger boot. It depends how much luggage space you want.

You area a true TATA fan, so IMO you must wait for indigo vista.

TATAs are really improving their quality & refinement of the cars.

After driving TATA, you will definitely feel Dzire as a plastic car.

So, wait for Vista indigo, you will love the car.

I need boot, Vista boot will not be enough for me plus the style factor. Definitely it will be a sedan.

Maruti Swift is a nice car and has fans all over the world. But personally I feel insecure in a Maruti , after driving a TATA.

Indigo CS petrol is out of question ! I need a diesel sedan but if the FIRE engine is introduced in Indigo Vista , and if the mileage is good I will go for Indigo Vista petrol.

If CS had a multijet engine , i would have already bought it. The TDI engine is no fun and its old , and DICOR is noisy.

Any more suggestions within this price range ?

How much should a used Honda Civic cost ?

Why not try out the Linea. It's available with both the FIRE and Multijet engines.

Maybe someone will come up with a sportier aftermarket grill.

if you want a diesel sedan for <6L, then the battle (until the indigo Vista arrives) is between the Dzire and the ikon TDCi.

alternately, try the getz CRDi - its storage area is huge, and the car is a monster

Why dont you think about getting the Indigo xl 1.6 ,100hp, petrol engined one.It is quite a good vehicle and even the classic variant has good amount of features. Not sure of its pricing though.

As I said before , car will be a sedan - no hatchbacks , no suv.

Indigo XL looks good , suits criteria but is out of budget.

Let me reframe the question : Is it worth waiting for Inigo Vista ?

it is worth it, but the wait seems to be growing longer. ANd with tata with its hands full with fiat launches and the nano, things are bound to happen later than sooner.

it was rumoured to be in early june, but I dont see that happening. Probably next year would be more like it.

I'd love to be proved wrong though!

Indigo Vista is expected around Sep/Oct only - and will definitely look better than Dzire!
