Whichever car you select, just buy it in/around chennai (chennai registration) for easy/timely transfer of the car into your father's name.(when I wanted to re-register my car in kerala which was originally bought/registered in chennai. I have checked with Automobile Association of Southern India, chennai regarding the transfer formalities, and came to know that it may even take 6 months to re-register
one car in other state- main delay is to get NOC. So eventually, I sold the car in chennai and bought new car here. Keep this in mind.
