OHC-Will it still be saleable after 2 years

Hi Guys,

Sorry to post in the wrong forum due to obvious restrictions. But I desperately needed advice from fellow BHPians on this one.

I have an option of purchasing a 2nd hand OHC (2003) done abt 32,000 Km at a fair price. My concern is that 2-3 years down the road when I want to sell it, will I get a decent re-sale price for it? Will there be any buyers for it at that point for a car whose production has been discontinued.

Will appreciate any help with this one.

excatly !! its been two years already so by the time he sells the car of it will be another 3-4 years by that time even the NHC will be old.

if you realy like the OHC go for it but why dont you go in for a model which is currently being produced.

whats your budget and what are the things your looking for in a car ??

I really dont think demand for the OHC will fall because even though the NHC is selling people still love the OHC. Leave aside the Type 2 , even the Type 1 has takers today and that too even though its out of production. The Type 1 was supposed to be thebest of the lot . And Honda engines eat up the kilometers like no other and still start in the first crank after running over 2 lakh kms

Go in for an OHC you wont regret it. Look for a good example though

After the launch of NHC, the demand of OHC in the 2nd hand market has increased considerably. There are many lovers just for the shape of the car & drivability. If it's a good car, you can go-ahead and buy it.

As of date, I don't see the service center saying that they don't have spares because of the model being discontinued. Hope this stay forever ( at least for next 5 yrs)

the OHC will definately be saleble after 2 years moreover you are buying a 2003 model thats just 2 years old....
but i am sure you will like it so much that you will keep it even after two years and will have another....

risga, dont worry. U'll never go wrong with a Honda. The resale will never drop too much.

About the spares, i believe any company has to produce spares for 15 yrs since the release of the model. Is it true??

You can easily sell it at a decent price for atleast another 5 years down the line... dont worry, go for it if you are getting it at a fair price...

Its difficult to get an OHC in the second hand market which has done only 32k
