In terms of Looks, and Interior layout and Quality and design, the OPTRA is far far far better than the Fiesta! mind u, the Optra is above the Fiesta, below the Corolla/Octavias. the Optra has a class! about the FE i think both cars give around the same! its a big thing to expect anything more than 10+ in city traffics these days!.be happy with anywhere from 9-10 kmpl !

I just didnt like the Quality of Ford fiesta, the interior cabin, dashboard and switches, are not up to the mark at all! the Dashboard is of non-rubberised plastic, i.e very soon u will be developing lotsa scratches on it, ur nail cud make a scratch on it...

Optra is a much better looking car ...has more snob value and a good responsive engine ..FE - is round about 8-9km in city ...

insane devil - the 1.8L Optra is very much in the league with the corollas and the skodas ..

I am a huge fan of the Fiesta and the Optra alike. But the Optra wins this hands down as it is clearly from a segment above.

Optra. Fiesta doesn't even come close in any parameter, except maybe that it's smaller and easier to park. Still, I'd take the Optra anyday.

Both having 1.6 petrol engine, i guess FE will be same or is it that Optra elite having a bit better Bhp may be FE wise lower than fiesta

Optra 1.6 clearly. The ford looks a tad smaller and built to a price type.
But it has ABS, so you win some you lose some. I would pick the Optra.

Fiesta is comparable only to the ACcent! or NHC.

optra 1.6 is a bigger car for those at a budget. if you need a bigger more comfortable car then optra is the choice for you.

fiesta 1.6 is on the other hand a complete c segment sedan. Its got better performance and Fuel efficiency while loosing out on space and luxury compared to the optra.

select the car based on your needs.

Performance:
- The fiesta 1.6 will give you a lot more performance, with a nice zippy drive and excellent handling. The optra 1.6 will leave you wanting for more - the 100kg difference in weight makes it a bit sluggish, and performance is mediocre.

FE:
- Fiesta has a better edge here as well, with around 10-11 kmpl in city. The optra will give you close to 8-9, VGIS notwithstanding.

Service:
- both Ford and Optra are equally high-mantainence cars, and the service is not great from either.

However, if you look at the space and luxury, the Optra 1.6 wins hands down over here.

My take - Optra if you wish to be driven, fiesta if you take the wheel.

Optra below corolla/octavia??? Insane Devil, the Optra 1.8 is very much right up there with the corolla and the octavia. There's absolutely no way you can discount it.

I was very keen on the fiesta 1.6 a couple of months back.I used to imagine this as my next car. The huge hoardings make it look really nice. Then while driving one day, i saw one going past. I was really dissapointed with it. There was something amiss about its propotions. It just didnt look right. Something with the back ( tail lights ) width of boot ...etc.
Took it for a test drive and I decided i wasnt going to buy it. It was a tad small for me ( im a 6 footer). My shoulders were literally rubbing against the sales guy. And Yes the interiors are a bit plastiky...with too many levels on the dash ( cleaning nightmare ).
Besides the wife hated it. We got into an optra once and she was like this definetly is the space one require when sitting in a car.
So decided to go for the optra. It looks a zillion times better too.
