Ask for Moroccan/Spanish designer tiles and not specifically for Athangudi tiles. You will get lot of options and designs. These tiles are available from Rs.40-50 per SqFt.

Could you give me a link? And yes, we did not ask for Athangudi tiles here. Cement tiles in terracotta colour.

Thanks for the points, deehunk; will explore these before finalizing.

Thanks saisree, will verify if going the wood way.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to replace my house' Main Door and Frame (age has caught up), and specific about Teak doors. I have a quote, from my local carpenter, of 70K for handmade door including fitting charges.

I have no idea if this is a fair estimate (standard main-entrance single-door), or if there are better options out there.

Can You please suggest.
Thanks.

Teak in my city costs 3800 Rs/cft. If you door is 4 feet wide × 7 feet height × 1.5 inches thick, it would come around 4 cft and depending upon thickness and design it may be reduced or increased. The frame if built on Sakhua(sal) wood be around 1.8 cft @ 3200 Rs/cft.Take another 5000 Rs for labour and 5000 Rs for polishing. Why don't you go to timber and check rates yourselves.

Almost all major tile brands have a moroccan/spanish design collection in their range. You can check with these. A lot of local brands also had these designs.

Guys, I am planning to run a LAN cable along the area where the floor meets the wall for a short run. To hide this cable is there any strip/decorative strip available?

Guys, need suggestions/contacts for installation of a pigeon net for our balcony.

Location: Bangalore south.

We had one, and the net has snapped in the corner. The thin nylon 'rope' has also snapped. Want something that is durable.

TIA

Decorative - no idea. We used to use the flat white casing/capping that is available in electrical shops, but this will be about 1 inch wide. Do you want to go with this ?

Yes, didn't find any decorative casing.
Went ahead with the usual 3/4" white casing.

Thanks, @HTC. Called him. He doesnt do pigeon nets, but only mesh for windows.

@condor, I suggest invisible grill for pigeon menace. It is almost invisible, zero maintenance and provides security. I have shared a photo from my apartment.

This is the first time that I have heard of a Condor having problems with pigeons! rl:

More seriously... How does the invisible thing deter them, if they cannot see it? How does that work?

The invisible grill neither allows the pigeon to come inside nor to sit on the grill, this grill is formed by rolling steel wire with a minimum spacing of 2 inches.
