Problems with playing videos

Hey i downloaded a couple of videos from the net, but kinda having probs playing them. The videos with less than 1000kbps get stuck after about 5seconds of playing and some of them just have sound and no video. Anyone know which player they would work on?

I also have the DivX softwares but dosen't seem to do any good...

Whats the extension of the file you are having problem with. If its a .3GP, try opening it in Quicktime player. You can also try Windows Media Player Classic (its diff from regular MP). It plays most of the formats.

search and install a 'kazaalite mega codec pack'.... has all the codecs except for 3gp... u can use quicktime 7 .. or nokia multimedia player for that.
Media player classic also comes as a part of this codec pack....

Google and download GSpot, if the files are .avi files, it helps to find the codec to open that file.
and there is also a chance that the file is highly fragmented. so if installing the codec doesnt solve the problem, defragment your hard disc.
