You know what, looking at your pic with the black Mclaren just reminded me.

Wasn't there a 1-2 page review on you in one of Overdrive's older issues??? I'm sure that article had that exact pic in it. What a small world man, i always wanted to meet that "lucky guy" in the pic.

Team-bhp..........GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

I'll see if i can find that article and let yo'll know the issue.

Regards...

Ok guys, here it is........

This article was printed in the Feb 2001 issue of Overdrive, page 122. It was titled "Racin' Instinct!"

And the first few lines went like this """Many budding motor enthusiasts have to put the brakes on their dreams bcoz of the lack of specialised training schools in India.

Robin Shroff decided to floor the throttle and xplore his dreams. He narrates his xperience xclusively for "Overdrive" readers."""

How about that!!!!!!

Regards...

Hey Rtech,
What sorts of cars have you raced? Any exotics??

I contacted Jim Rusell , Canada about that 7 month course but they said that that course has been discontinued for the moment.

Can you give me some info on it?

Regards...

Nope, not raced sports cars, only the Formula Ford 1600's and the Formula 2000's. Someday though....someday. Like everyone else here in Mumbai, waiting for a circuit to come up close by so i can go club racing every weekend in a saloon car. Just for fun.

Well, while I was there, rumors were flying about that the track, a former F1 circuit actually, was gonna be bought over, reconditioned and used for the CART series. We didn't believe it at the time, but it did happen a couple of years later. As the School was based in a building in the middle of the circuit itself, they were forced to move out.

They have now moved to the St. Estausch circuit nearby, and also changed their name from Jim Russell to Auto Sport Basi. Their site isBasi . The owner, James Besmer, is the boss here too. Infact, the F2000's used are his own design.

Interesting note though, when I was at the school, one of the instructors was Alex Tagliani, now a top order CART driver! Oh yea, one Jacques Villneuve was also an ex-student of this school!

Lemme know if you need any info, I'll be glad to fill you in on anything.

Cheers!
