Re: Calling Bhpians to Petition Against Blanket Ban on Car Films

Signed.
I really don't understand how this law is going to impact in long or short run to the always changing modus operanda and the technology used by criminals to do crimes.

Hope to hear more matured and logical solutions which contribute in a greater way for curbing / controlling the crime rather than such kind of laws which hardly make the required impact, both in either long or short term.
Also, need some laws which can be implemented practically.

Re: Calling Bhpians to Petition Against Blanket Ban on Car Films

Here is the ruling of the honorable court.

SUPREME LAW: Avishek Goenka Vs. Union of India & Anr.

It talks about black films.

If a car manufacturer ships cars with tinted glass of VLT front & rare 70% & 50% sides - that is acceptable. But no modification to plain glass is allowed. Why?

And also talks about first time fine and provisions for Traffic Police to remove the film as well....

It is only referring to car, how about other vehicles - TTs & buses?

Let's see how it goes.

Re: Calling Bhpians to Petition Against Blanket Ban on Car Films

SC heard the review petition on 11th and the hearing was inconclusive. It will take up the matter again for the last time on 19th July, if even that hearing is inconclusive the petition will be set aside for 30 months.

And that would mean another 30 months for the cops to make merry, and the common man has the drive around like a fugitive.

Re: Calling Bhpians to Petition Against Blanket Ban on Car Films

here is what I got from the FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/movementagainstsc

The hearing of the 5 PIL's yesterday again ended upon no conclusion . The judges told that the Motor Act explains about visibility percentage but no where mentions anything about pasting anything upon the glass. They have asked for some time for advice's from panel's & the next date of hearing is 25th July,2012 .

Re: Calling Bhpians to Petition Against Blanket Ban on Car Films

Am planning to challenge the verdict in court and building up a case against the same. If all goes well, will be in court soon. If you wish to give inputs on the same kindly pm.

And I believe we the 'common man' should be standing up for things like this which are not just. And what use when good learned, educated folks dont do anything.

Thanks!

@coolmel: What kind of support are you looking for from us. Do we get involved in the court case, sign petitions, what??

All of us here think this is a very dumb ruling too, but most of us have removed the tint from our car just to avoid hassles.

Hi coolmel,
Count me in. Please send me the link to your petition. I hope you have included the fact that without sun film, we would be increasing the amount of carbon monoxide and other pollutants as the stress on the engine increases to keep the interior cool in our harsh summers. We will also endup burning more fuel. Neither is it cheap or in abundance.
That was a thought from the top of my head. Please get an online petition. I will sign. Also let me know if i can help further.

Thank you kind sir! Shall keep you abreast of developments! There are many points apart from this which make a valid point. But again, without support its all futile.

Thanks coolmel, will do. Just reading up how they filed a petition in mangalore and the court rejected it. Therefore this one needs to be well thought out. Just saying
