no...not an E type. I think it was a 1956 (or so) XK 140.

I'm not much of a "movie man" and haven't seen Cruel Intentions. Going by what I've heard, it seems to be a 1956 roadster. The XKE (or E Type) came about in 1961 and that puts it out of the equation. There were 3 models of the XK roadster during the 50s which looked pretty similar - XK120, XK140 and XK150. The 120, 140 and 150 badging depended on the top speed of the car.
In the year 1956, 2 cars were making hay - the XK140 and XK-SS. The XK140 was somewhat common compared to the XK-SS. Both have become classics. I'm putting up a pic of each car. The 1st one is the SS and the 2nd a 140. Take your pick.
