A Guide: Eating out in Lucknow

I searched the forum and could not find any thread on eating joints in Lucknow. If there is one, request mods to merge the same.

I have been to Lucknow many times before and have gourmandised food at may joints which are mentioned below.

Royal Cafe,Shahnajaf Road: I had my lunch yesterday and ordered the following.

Brain Shahi Masala:It was little sweetish for my taste, i would have returned it back as i had requested them make it spicy, but i was getting late for a meeting so had to eat it.

Plain Naan:It was good.

This place was very noisy.

Total Damages:Rs 230

I had my dinner yesterday at Dastarkhwan Restaurant, beside tulsi cinema and ordered the following.

1, Galawati Kebab (1/2 plate)-Rs 40:They just melt in your mouth.
2, Chicken Masala:(1/4 plate)Rs 80 ;It was yummy.
3, Tawa Parantha: (4 No's)-

Total Damages:Rs 160:

This place is worth every penny and i visit this place in my every visit to Lucknow.

The other joints i have visited in my earlier visits are

1, Naushijaan: This is little ahead of Dastarkhwan.
2, Tunday Kababi:This goes without saying
3, Idris Biriyaniwala at Patnala Chowk
4, Wahid's Biriyani at Old Nazirabad
5, Rahim's Kulche Nihari at Akberi Gate.
6, Hotel Sarovar Portico, next to St Francis,Shahnajaf Road.

As expected. Good to see Waseem's Lucknow thread now. A Hard Core Foodie of Hyderabad is lost in India. Good to see the Foodie Spirit

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Lucknow

Seconded on Dastar Khawan. Their biryani is also very good.
Ditto Idris.

Tunde's biryani (not mentioning Galawati) is also fine, and I am a frequent customer of their Gurgaon franchisee these days.

The others I have not yet tried. Maybe next time I am there.

May this thread prosper a lot!
