Writing Cds.....

hey all, was wondering that whenever i write the data CD (ie MP3s) from my computer, i arrange them name wise....(or number wise...i.e. 01, 02 as PREFIX to the songs) in order of preference....but whenever final CD comes out, its all jumbled up. can somebody help?

What program are you using to burn the CD? If you are copying MP3 files dosn't windows sort the files by name when burning?

Use iTunes. It will rename the files 01 02 etc.

Hi,

Use NERO for starters best software to burn CD's. Next make the file name to read as 01- songname

This way windows will take the numbering as index. Alternately it will arrange them alphabetically.

Hey Panky12345,

First of all u have to rename all songs.
(i.e. 01 - Riders On The storm, 02 - Lean Back..)
if u want to write more than 10 songs then u have to use 001 as prefix.
then use nero for cd burning..

Cheers,
Mugen_Power.

Renaming the song alone won't work. You'll have to change their ID3 tags.
Right click on the mp3 file, go to properties>>advanced and you'll see the different spaces for song name, artist name, year etc. Edit it as u like.

While writing CDs and transferring files the OS does not read ID3 tags, just the file names.
So you need to select sorting method = File name, and then do a cd copy
