M&M sets up an engineering college in Hyderabad

Mahindra group has started a new engineering institute in hyderabad in collaboration with Ecole Centrale Paris and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university hyderabad.

Admissions to start in 2014 with a first batch of 300 students to be increased to 2500 eventually. Plans to start similar institutes in Chennai, Goa, pune and jaipur.

Great news for aspiring automotive engineers. An institute like this was the need of the hour in the country and first one comes up in my hometown. Proud to be a hyderabad!

If I am not mistaken, they are using the Satyam Learning Center campus at Bahadurpalle for the college. Am I right?

Anyway, it is nice to know that M&M has made a foray into this arena.

Great news indeed. I think this is a great begining of yet another diverse area for M&M to foray into and even better news for budding auto engineers.

I think the location of Hyderabad was decided on two primary factors

1. M&M has a large factory on NH9

2. M&M can use the large IT and infrastructure facilities of its sister concern ( Tech Mahindra) which is largely present in Hyderabad

Great news. First Time in Andhra Pradesh we are going to have B.tech in Automobile engineering.

I think it is a learning center set up by Tech Mahindra, the IT arm of Mahindra and Mahindra. The college may not offering hardcore automobile/mechanical courses right now. But may in future.

Great news indeed ! How I wish I could go back and start all over again :(

We finally have a proper automobile engineering course in Andhra Pradesh. Considering that it has been started by Mahindra themselves, I expect that there will be decent response if not great. I so wish this had started back in 2005.
