Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

Morning papers had me quite depressed. And even more so since late last night I was watching the movie Takers!!

Was really looking forward to the next edition of Fast & Furious especially with Jason Staham coming in. With this sad news the film is sure to be delayed according to newsreports.

R.I.P Paul Walker.

Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

This is a devastating news for me! Didn't read about this yesterday and just saw this after I asked my sister to place an order for the FnF series (1-5) blu ray disks!

His smile was the best part of the FnF series and the way he drove the cars; the style. Of all the drivers, I like his & Jason Statham's style the most. I will miss him. And yes, FnF series can never be the same!

May your soul rest in peace. I would rather believe that GOD wanted a driver and he just hired PW !!

Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

Extremely shocking news! All those fancy cars on screen were supplemented by Paul's equally stunning looks. For all the aggressive driving in FnF, Paul sported cool demeanour, soft voice and and infectious smile. The biggest irony is, he died not as a driver but as a passenger. Hollywood has not just lost a star. The world has lost a teen idol and a hearthrob of millions. May his soul rest in peace.

This video from Top Gear shows what the car is capable of. Look at the words used by Jeremy:

Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

R.I.P Paul. Indeed a sad news. All the TV/E! shows were paying a tribute to him today. Heart wrenching to see all that. It seems he had a great rapport/friendship with Tyrese Gibson who could not control his feelings when he visited the crash site.

More about the car here: Source

Quote:
Always Evolving's Porsche Carerra GT -- recognizable for its unusual red color and black wheels -- is a difficult car to drive for even professionals, with one top driver calling its handling “scary." Those of us at Autoweek who have driven the car will likely concur.

Always Evolving, a car race and tuner store operated by CEO Roger Rodas, a financial consultant who became friends and business partners with actor Paul Walker at a racetrack, acquired the car last spring, and used it often at car shows and in promotional ads. Rodas was driving when the car crashed, killing him and passenger Walker in a California business park Saturday afternoon.

There were fewer than 1,300 of the V-10, 610-hp, midengine cars built from 2004-07, with less than half coming to the U.S. The car that crashed, number 479, was one of 38 cars offered for sale by Always Evolving's store in Sun Valley, Calif.; it was listed as a 2005 model with 3,283 miles. The price is not listed; the car sold new for about $450,000.

It was offered by a dealer in Dallas for $339,000 when it had 1,707 miles, and then the car was listed in the duPont Registry by an exotic car dealer in Pompano Beach, Fla., when it had 2,100 miles. A dealer in Fort Lauderdale listed the car for $359,900, with 3,231 miles on it, and by then it had acquired the black wheels that were on the car when Always Evolving had it. Always Evolving was the next owner.

The car was originally purchased from Beverly Hills Porsche in California, in March of 2005. When the second owner in California bought the car in 2007, it had only 456 miles on it, and when it was sold to owner three in Texas in January, 2009, mileage was 1,510. When it was offered for sale in October, 2011, it had gained only 200 miles. The car went to Florida, then Indiana, then back to Florida, then Always Evolving apparently acquired the car last spring, where the license plate, California number 7CCY590, was mounted inside an Always Evolving black frame.

Sadly, you know the rest of the car's history.

It is not everyday that your heart feels heavy at someones demise, but not in the case of Paul Walker. His cool attitude in life and in F&F is what i liked the most. RIP Brian O'Connor.

Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

Sorry to be digressing here but seriously what kinda cars are these? I mean look at the mess. The car is reduced to a burning pulp small enough to fill a litter bin. Granted that they need to be lightweight to attain high acceleration/speed. But this light? It looks like some epoxy resin sheets and some balsa kinda material was just glued together. Like there are no screws/nuts/bolts/rivets, just palin glue to hold them together. And that thing they call a tree looks like an overgrown plant. A traditional ladder chassis SUV would have mowed that plant down.

Re: R.I.P. Paul Walker!

DNA Reports that the most likely reason behind the accident is power steering fluid leakage.

Paul Walker’s car crash, which resulted in his death, was most likely caused by a power steering fluid leak in the Porsche hw was travelling in, according to reports.

Sources connected to Always Evolving, the auto-shop co-owned by Walker and Porsche driver Roger Rodas, said that there was evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene, the New York Post reported.

Don't underestimate the amount of destruction a fire can do. You're looking at pics of the car after its been burning for a while.
