Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

Have you ever transported your bike by bus and had the person load it on head and hoist it up to the top?

THIS seems to be the original source

I have had that experience in Kalasipalayam, Bangalore twenty years ago when this puny little guy had my 250 CC Jawa/Yezdi on his head and climbed up the ladder usually found behind older buses. Mind you, this is a steep 90 degree climb unlike the slanted one in the video.
My heart was in my mouth but this person managed it fantastic and the two guys standing atop the bus fumbled and almost dropped it when they were taking it off his head.
There was no access to video making devices two decades ago and nobody would believe me when I told them about this feat.

Mods: please move this post to appropriate thread since I looked for one to squeeze this in and could not find it.

Re: Bike on head

That's a 150kg+ Motorcycle on his head, god knows how he balanced it, let alone lift it with his head ! The way he climbed the ladder without holding the bike, speechless ! Absolutely speechless..

Re: Bike on head

:O How in the world is this possible. It's not even that there are two other parallel ladders and two guys on them giving a hand to balance the bike. It is just resting on his head all the way up!

Insanely strong neck there! 150+kg load is just taking things to the extreme! I'm speechless.

Re: Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

This is circulating around whatsapp now. The motorcycle seems to be a Pulsar 150. But the guy surely has a neck of steel to balance such a heavy weight! In future, he could have neck/back problems, ( I am no doctor), but I think carrying heavy weights like this is torture for your body internally!!

That sounds unbelievable. Would love to see the action for myself.

Please can somebody post the video on a platform accessible to us, non-socialites?

Amazing feat. Lifting possibly 3 times one's weight requires not only sheer strength but also technique!

Re: Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

Although the feat is jaw dropping, its a major risk to the person himself as he is carrying more load than his body weight plus to the persons nearby watching the process. As a responsible forum, this act shouldnt be appreciated.

But then I couldnt think of any alternate arrangement to hoist the bike on the bus roof top. A crane may do the job but would prove expensive. Cant there be any better means of transporting the bike?

Yes. 2-3 guys on the roof of the bus, 2 long enough strong ropes and some damping material like thermocol to avoid scratches on bus or bikes. With some technique, it can be easily achieved.
However, as a non-social person, call me from mars & someone without a facebook account, I am yet to see the pictures, only if some kind soul posts here directly.

Re: Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

Can any of the team-bhp doctors comment on the practice shown in the video.

What bad results can such a heavy weight on the neck and body cause on a human being?

Lifting the load by your neck and then add to it the balance thing, hats off to this guy.
Only thing I am worried about is his long term health and sudden mishaps which can happen if the bike falls down.

Re: Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

Cannot watch the video however
A man cannot carry a 150 kg motorcycle on his head and climb ladder.
There are three things involved:
1. Strength - a man need to keep a load of 150 kg on his hands/shoulders/neck
2. Endurance - a man needs to climb up the stairs/ladder with small load on this body
3. Balance - a man need to maintain his balance when he steps up each rung of the ladder (he is on one leg only).

In isolation:
1 can be done.
2 can be done
3 can be done

Perhaps a trained circus guy can do two of the above together, but
Doing all the 3 things together = fake.

Re: Video: Man carries motorcycle on his head, climbs up ladder

The number of comments on safety, while justified, is fairly out of context, I believe. This is not a stunt show; from what I can gather from the video the person carrying the bike is earning his living. For all we know he may not have a choice. How do we as spectators decide? This brings to mind workers at ship breaking yards at Alang. They are handling red hot iron inches away from their body with nary a protective clothing.
