Advise required : buyer has lost form 29

Hi,

I sold an M800 almost 8 months ago, and now the buyer comes back saying he has not registered the car and has lost the forms. He wants me to sign a new set of forms...

I'm confused now...

Firstly, i do not plan to sign the new forms right away..but i need to know how i need to handle this case...

1. who has the car (it seems he still drives it)
2. need to check the original RC book and the CAR in person.

I will have to dig out the delivery note and cheque payments records.

I will also need an authorization and statement (affidavit) that he has indeed lost the documents, but what he was doing for 8+ months i don't know...

any advise will help here....

Ask him to lodge FIR in his police station and keep one copy of FIR with u though not sure if he will be willing to do it.
Ur idea of getting signed affidavit from him is also good one.

But i seriously recommedn u to consult some lawyer,especially someone known to u.
