Hey,

For a budget like that forget getting a decent room in a good locality. You can probably get a room near the Bombay Central area which is considered a red light area at night in your budget.

As Viper said, Hotels at Bombay Central or Hotel Gulistan near Minerva cinema, Lamington Rd. But no guarantee that you will find your vehicle in the same condition if you park somewhere around there (that is if u cmg by car). I feel that it will be somewhere near ur budget. No great shakes, but not too bad either. Seek advice from your agent. All the best for the exibition buddy!

you could look at cheap rooms around colaba, there are tons of them. should take you around 40 mins to get to nehro centre from there.
actually wait, i think i can hook you up for a room at NSCI, am a member there. will find out the tariffs and leave you a p.m.
NSCI is a 5 minute stroll from nehru centre

Your first visit to Bombay? Well, this is a co-incidence. My very first visit to Bombay in 1991 was for the same reason, to participate in a computer exhibition in Nehru center. My office did such a shoddy job in booking room, me and Bombay branch manager went around looking for a room at around 9PM. Imagine getting on/off locals many times dragging a big suitcase. My budget was so low, even low-end hotels laughed me out. I finally gate-crashed into the house of distant cousin who was very surprised to see me.
