Team-Bhp, gaming team???

I know there are quite a few hardcore gamers on teambhp. So i was just wondering, why don't we take our gaming skills to the next level?

Why not teamup and try our hands at one of them gaming events!!!

Not sure about India but i've heard of some serious gaming championships held abroad.

Does anyone have any info on such things?

Internet gaming in India is still in infancy, and the reason is Broadband services.
for true gaming you dont just need consistant 200kbps throughput but low pingtimes.
To servers ping times from India are something like 300ms.
But in hong kong they are as low as 20ms.
In korea you have single digit ping times too,

Reliance is a good thing, since if you are on the reliance backbone and so is the server you can have single digit ping times(fiber optic B.Bone).

I have tried my hand at counterstrike and UT, though I could do good at webworld, at home even with 512kbps(480kbps sustainable throughput) I was unable to play well.

Hi,

I have tried my hands on gaming event held here in chandigarh for counter strike. It was awesome. And for information a lot of gaming competitions take place in india.

Examples like wcg (played in that just for fun.) eswc and some other minor touraments.

Games that are currently popular in gaming events in india:

Quake
Counter strike series (Counter strie 1.6, Condition zero, Counter strike source.)
Fifa
Need for speed.

I play counter strike a lot. There are a lot of indian game servers. Can be found here:

P.S. There are indian servers TSK and the ping is like 20-30 for me. Some peple get 5 - 7 and some aroun 50-100. I play on Singapore servers too and latency is around 100.

Team-Bhp gaming contest?? I am in for sure.
I am also sure that I'll end up first from the last. I play almost every driving game around and I really suck on the gaming scene. I dunno why, but even my younger brother beats me flat on NFS!!

You need to have a good gaming computer too. The higher end AMD based motherboards have special features which reduce ping during internet gaming. I think even the Conroe ones might also have something like that.

U guys got me wrong. I was talking about teaming up and taking part in international gaming events (Especially car games).

Seen a few of these events on "Gamer Tv" where everything is provided by the organizers.

I think Singapore or Malaysia has such an event.

Online gaming isn't feasible for a majority of us. I've got a 2mbps connection, but I get full speed only with multiple connections as in torrents or IDM. And BSNL's wretched latency hovers around 300ms.
