Cool, Kindly update us with the names and pictures of models you have bought.

From WaffleCollectibles.com I have ordered:

1:200 Hogan Air India Boeing B 777-200 VT-ALC
1:200 Hogan Japan Air Self Defense Force Boeing B 747-400 20-1102
1:200 Hogan Air India Express Boeing B 737-800 VT-AXD

From DiecastAirplane.com I have ordered:

Varig Log B727-200 ~ PP-VQV (1:200)
Hapagfly.Com 737-800 (1:200)
AirCal / American "Hybrid" MD-80 ~ N478AC (1:200)

These are all Diecast models, the first 3 are plastic.I won't be getting any until I visit the US in January or someone brings them in February.:Frustrati

I now understand why you have so many diecast models in your collection, they are much more detailed and perfectly shaped. However they are much more expensive, especially the 1:200 scale I collect. Hence I think its best to wait when they are on sale and order a few.

Great, I'm unable to PM you.
Had a few questions to ask regarding recent models you bought

Had shared my email in the post then read the forum rules:

"You understand the dangers associated with sharing your personally identifiable information, including your full name, telephone number or address over the Internet. You agree not to share such information with other users. "

Can you enable the option for other users to contact you through email via the control panel? It's under "Edit Options".
Or you can send me an email from my profile page.

Can you please post a pic of ur showcase if any?

Here are a few Vodka Burners and other examples.

Hope you like these. Let me know if you wanna see anything specific

Check these few close ups

Your collection is to die for. Thank you for posting these lovely detailed pictures.

All, have you ever bought model kits from Hasegawa or Tamiya. Do you know how difficult is the construction and whether the models are snap-fit or the glue kind. I can assemble and paint. But when the assembly is with glue in the Airfix manner then it becomes a pain in the neck. Any inputs will be thankfully accepted.

Although I don't recall buying these brands, more than 15 years ago I used to assemble kits from Revell and Monogram. The above brands I think make similar kits going by the description and number of pieces.

Usually kits consist of 100s of pieces attached to a plastic frame that you have to cut out, glue together , sand, prime and then paint. Then stick the decals which are very delicate and often break. It takes days of efforts and great skill to make a good model. If you are used to snap to together kits from Herpa or Hogan etc. this would be at least 100 times more difficult and and time consuming.

Below is a picture of a Hasegawa Kit for a Grumman F6F-3/5 Hellcat :

Many thanks Foxbat. This was most useful. As a child I once made one of those out of Airfix but that was 1975. I don't think I could manage today. But then I am trying to retire out of my business soon so maybe I will have all the time:)

A couple more I added to my collection(both diecast).

Thank you for sharing. The JC Wings model - is it plastic or diecast. I assume the former. At 1:200 it must be quite big.

He has mentioned its Diecast. JC Wings only makes diecast in 1:200 and 1:400.

Thats why that 787 costs a fortune lol:

Lengthwise, the 787 is about the size of an A4 size paper.

But compared to the other Hogan plastic models I have, it is in a completely different league. In terms of detailing, the only other model that comes close to the 787(modelling of antennas, lights, bulges etc) is the Hogan IAF C-17(plastic) and to some extent, the Hogan IAF Su-30(diecast).

Thank you. Congratulations. That 787 is one swell chunk of metal you have.

Ordered a Messerschmitt Bf 109 and a Mitsubishi Zero fighter on line. The former from Corgi UK and the latter from Amazon India. Will post after they arrive in a few weeks.
