re: Bangalore techie lists bike for sale; murdered by potential buyer

Nick was a colleague way back in 2002/03 when we were starting our careers in Calcutta. I remember him as a very friendly, helpful and cheerful guy, back then.

Came to know of his death via some old friends and was shocked to hear.

I hope this brings closure to his near and dear ones.

RIP buddy. Keep smiling wherever you are.

OMG! I remember reading a theft when a buyer from online ad wanted to listen to the bike's silencer note, so he cranked the bike and ran away with it, leaving the owner standing there. But this is really horrible, killed for a bike. I think singles trying to sell stuff should really be ultra-cautious as to whom they are selling stuff.

RIP Sohan, this was really sad and unnecessary end of life. :(

Now the most worrisome thing is that the killer showed all the classic signs of being a psychopath for years and yet police never did anything about it all this while. They say he drilled a hole in a bank's wall once, lifted gold from some shop and even sedated someone elderly to steal his laptop. Police knew about him all this while and yet let him roam around all this while?!! Why?

Very sad to hear. Reminding everyone of this point from our 'selling a car' article:

Worse still how did he think he would get away with this knowing that he had been caught in the past.

This theft of Buying/selling bikes is getting all too common now.
It isnt strange to read on social media how superbikes are stolen during buying/selling deals.

But this is next level stuff. I think you should always do deals in a safe environment. With a couple of known people around you.

Ive sold/ Bought a lot of my superbikes and although while selling we have the advantage of our local area and people around us to make the deal safe. But while buying it becomes risky at times. As you go to unknown locations with loads of cash sometimes. It could even be a setup. You never know you could be tricked into something.

If he is smart enough to understand that he should have been smart enough to know not to commit the crime. People who do planned murders are fools and almost always get caught.

On the contrary, why would I want to share a drink with an unknown person-a prospective customer? invite him at my place? and allow him to stay over for the night??
And how can the other flat mates not notice the smell??
Quote: "Three other techies from Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai and Chennai who were residing in other rooms are said to have not bothered about his death despite a foul smell emanating from the victim's room."
