Wow!

Imagine the engineering challenges of modelling a complex geodesic surface (matching the lovely curves of the Volkswagen Beetle) with 3D wire-frame CAD software, and then implementing it with a lattice of TIG-welded alloy wire, without compromising Euro standards of road-worthiness.

I like the way the door sill rocker-panels have been reinforced with fine lattice-work.

Another thought: At this time of the year, Prague, Czech Republic is experiencing temperatures from 1 degree to 5 degrees Celsius with rain showers. It's not warm and gentle India where you can drive with a thin T-shirt and jeans.

Imagine driving this contraption to an automobile exhibition in near-zero sleety weather, without windshield, window glasses, nor heating! Brrr...

ah, the wirebug! was quite a fad in the 70s, with atleast a dozen produced over time...this one i hvent seen before...

i belive theyre quite popular in mexico as wedding cars...heres a few more














one is on display at vws wolfsburg museum, but unfortunately it wasnt there when i visited...
