I completely agree. In my book, Bburago (from Italy) is #1 in detailing and durability. I bought my Bburago VW Beetle some 8 years ago and its the best one in my collection (~10 cars including a 1966 Merc 250SE coupe).

@virgo129 -- this is an old thread, if you are interested in Diecast Scale Models, which i am guessing you are, check out the "Scale Model Thread" which has been started by Dippy. It will is totaly mind blowing.

Im verys surprised to see that MATCHBOX doesnt figure in the list. This brand was once a British Brand started as Lesney Products in 1971 and made small cars.Early 2000,Matchbox was acquired by Mattel Products.
They beat every Scale Model beand in every way.Its my first choice.
Bburago is the next best.Of course now they are made in China and they look good too.
My 2 cents...

Yup, Matchbox and Corgi,

Corgi in the very old days - 1970s and 80s was prominent above Matchbox with their level of detailing, the wheels could be taken out, exchanged with a working stepney, bonnets & boots used to open as well as doors.
Beautiful detailing on Corgi cars. Surprisingly no one mentioned Corgi.

Really beautiful products for the day and age.

Cheers

Schuco and Franklin Mint for me. Followed by Autoart and Minichamps. I prefer models with good finish and fit. I hate Maisto for its fit and finish, but then it is the least expensive of the lot. so cant complain.

Welly and MatchBox are my favorites. How come you missed out MatchBox in the voting list ?
