Yes tsk I remember all that. TD was replaced by TD2 where you had a gas station and all. The only view you had was from the cockpit. Crashing into someone showed a broken windscreen. Did anyone try GPCGA? It was the Grand Prix version.

If you broke the speed limit the cop car got after you, but the top speed of that car was 120mph and if you stayed above 120mph you could survive a ticket!
Now that I hear the description, I remember this now, it was called TD. This was great fun. But we always had to find some remote cubical that was far away from all the Managers. Somehow IT managers those days considered gaming (after work hours) as unprofessional behavior. Man, before web came along games were our only stress buster at work.

esteem_lover, you are mentioning some of the newer games. The thread is about old games, mostly DOS based ones. If we start discussing later games, this thread will go to 1000+ posts.

Guys, let's stick to say pre-1995.

PS: I am a big AOE fan, I've owned every one of them. But that's for a different thread.

Tunnels - First Game to play on a PC.
Prophecy - A strategy DOS based game.
Lotus F1 - Formula One with Lotus F1 cars.

Half-Life lovers read this!!!
If you played HL and liked it, you've probably played HL2 also. Well now you can play HL with HL2 graphics!! Valve and Steam have released Black Mesa so that fans can play Half Life in high definition graphics.

Hey Zaphod -

I used to even run on of those BBSs. Mine was called GameWave and I used to run it on a 2400 baud internal modem

Some other oldies:

Karateka - it had the feel of a poor man's prince of persia
F19 - an awesome flight sim - it had the works
