I think interest levels for the match were pretty low, heard that even in England viewership was low.

In the end, England deserved the result, Belgium was definitely the better team and their counter attacks were good.

Would be happy to see a Croatian victory, but the rational mind says it will be France most likely.

*I hope this statistic is right (from what I remember):
Of the 20 world cups played so far, only 12 countries have been in the finals (8 countries only have won it one or more times and 4 have been runners up one or more times but never won).

This is the scene at the beginning of each and every world cup, the English believe the cup is coming home and belittle every one else. The only reason for me to hate them.

Belgium started on a roll, but after the goal till towards the end, there was not much real action. Towards the end two three brilliant moves by Hazard and co, especially after Lukuku was withdrawn. If Lukaku was substituted in the earlier match, might have been a different result with France. Martinez don't have a plan B or C, one touch brilliant football alone can't and couldn't win matches.

Ya, there was no goal fest. Football is best enjoyed when goals and counter goals keep on coming. Let the finals at least be like that, 4-3 France or Croatia whoever has a better nerve. Both Croatia and France defeated my favourite Argentina, though I have no grudge against both sine Argentina was indeed poor this time. And the match is refereed by an Argentine!

Still, to pick one from two, head goes with France and heart with the Croats as we would get a brand new champion of the world; would be a tribute to the importance given by their nation to sports and to one of their greatest sports persons ever, Goran Ivanisevic, another one of my favourite, in tennis.

At the end of first half France leading 2-1, just hope the Croatians can come from behind to win this one, uphill task though.

Pogba belts another one. Croatia has come back once. Can they do it twice? Very difficult it seems.

Edit: This time Mbappe. There is no return my friends. It's 4-1. Croats just got battered with the penalty especially Subasic, his body language tells it all.

Cruel, cruel game of football. Croatia the better side for the whole hour, and 3-1 behind to show for it.

Did you not see the goals by Pogba and Mbappe? France are playing great as well. If possession is the only criteria for being a better side then Spain or Portugal would be playing the finals. And no team reaches the finals by fluke.

The deserving team won. What a performance by the French.

France won, and that's all that matters, but if you think Croatia weren't the better side in the first hour of the game right until Pogba scored, I don't know what game you were watching.

Never expected Croatia to give up before the final whistle, would have at least made it a single goal difference in the last minutes. Perisic played really well and Mbappe got real skills. And congrats Deschamps for the double.

3-3, Croatia scored thrice. Bad luck. One happened to be an own goal. Well played. The best final for a while. Thumbs up France.

I was watching the same match.
All I can say is that one's judgement should not be clouded by the love of the favourite side. Give credit where it's due. Thank you.

How many people believed Croatia will play the finals. None. Even they wouldn't have thought this when the tournament started. They did great. France was just better when it mattered. One of the best world cups in ages.

I actually typed up a response, but realise there's no point dragging this on.

I had no favorites (didn't vote in the poll either), and you read more into my original comment than I said.
