'Ghost Crashes' captured on video? Nope, just crafty video editing!

Today i came across this

video on Facebook

with the heading "Ghost Crash":

Multiple car's meet with accident all of a sudden and there isn't another vehicle in sight.

Initially i thought may be the gear got locked or something but after watching the video for couple of times, i feel its a very clever video editing job.

Observe all the cars meeting with the ghost crash at Junctions where there has to another vehicle to cause such accidents.

What are your thoughts on this.

Looks like very clever editing wherin the other car has been masked out. Have seen couple of the crashes on youtube where the other car was visible. So its just a hoax!

Yesterday i happened to stumble on this video and was of the similar opinion of a very clever editing job. Having said that why would anyone want to pull such a trick? Motive appears to be unknown! On the contrary if it is Russian origin then we all know!!

It's strange that some CCTV cameras are shooting from far away, and yet a distinct sound of the crash is heard. Do the CCTV cameras deployed on streets capture audio? I doubt so.

So, this definitely looks like a good editing job!

This hoax has been present in social media for many years. This is clearly the result of a bang-up video editing. I remember seeing this 'Ghost Crash' in YouTube for the first time about 5-6 years ago.

Interestingly majority of these videos are shared in Russian social media platforms. Maybe there is some sort of significance for such on road ghost stories in Russia. Or this might be their recipe for instant social media success (views).

They sure can. I have a couple of outdoor weather-proof CCTV cameras and they capture sound very well. Crystal clear.
