I have enterprise apps at home. Microsoft ISA Server on laptop and desktop, and firewall in my Cisco router. Plus I never visit porn/spurious sites or install any nonstandard apps

Never had any virus and spyware attack
1. Comodo firewall
2. AVG anti spyware
3. AVG anti virus
4. DSL modem + wireless router give me 2 hardware firewalls!

Besides this I occasionally analyze for rootkits and rogue anti spyware analyzers.
Browsing is done via firefox and opera only with IE rarely used.
Never had to reinstall too!

I only use Antivir antivirus system... rest keeping anything on slows down the internet speed and pc performance..I use my pc mainly for games and designing and checking mails.

Recently when I installed one software in my pc I kept my Kaspersky AV off for few minutes & when I restarted pc without my knowledge I was infected within few minutes......I tried to scan but couldnt disinfect virus completely.....it was showing annoying pop up at right hand corner & I tried many thing but coulndt get through....it was "Antivermin" showing pop ups & redirecting to perticuler site.....at one time I thought of fomatting HD but as always I found this method not good as its a last option for me anytime....

I checked entries with spyware blaster & to my horror found "zlob" entries disabled.....this shows in red.....I checkd them all again & found out registry entries & deleted them all through registry........

Point is we cant live without AV even for a few minutes.....even if we use multiple spywares & other stuff we can get infected if we misses just by few seconds online without them.

An AV and a Good firewall is a MUST on any networked PC running any version of windows

Once my friends computer had crashed and i had to reinstall XP on it, post reinstall we connected the computer to the net to download Zonealarm suite from my server, Every 2-3 mins our computer was attacked and would shutdown as this was XP SP1 :( eventually we managed to download the SUITE and found a few spyware and trojans on the pc.
