Alpine subwoofers for sale

I am putting this up on behalf of my friend in Mumbai.

Up for sale are a pair of 12" Alpine subs . Dont remember the model but they are TypeS 300 RMS Dual 4 Ohms subs.
Subs are imported from the US, they don't match the amp he has correctly, so wants to sell, hardly used for 1 Month.
Offer Price is RS 3500 per sub. MRP in Mumbai is Rs8500 for the same subs.

I dont have a pic of the sub yet, anyone interested can contact him directly:

Sanjoy John, 9820448785.
Subs are in Lower Parel if anyone wants to see them in person. I dont have pics of the actual thing, but below is what it looks like.

Sounds like a SWS-1222D

Sells for $65-90, so the deal appears good, low sensitivity of Alpine subs (especially in sealed boxes) notwithstanding.

502 is the 2 Channel @ 250 Watt

Yours is the 504.

Ideally your going to need a more powerful amp to drive this sub if its rated at 300rms.

Sorry for going Off Topic but, does that imply that we need a much powerful amp?

You are probably better off with a matching amp, in this case 300w RMS, not any lesser ones. To get the best out of these monsters.

3,500 is a very good price, so long as the reason for selling is genuine (I mean, cant the sound be tuned to suite the needs? Unless he is upgrading to a monster sub)

Not necessairily, this sub can be coupled with an amp less than 300 RMS, any above 300 RMS is actually dangerous for this model particularly cos last year one such experiment I did went bad and a sub blew up in Bangalore. Indeed the 504 is little less power for this sub.
Now, this sub is no monster, it's a SQL subwoofer. Tuning does not help cos the only two ways one can wire a 2 Ohm stable monoblock with these subs is 4 Ohms or 1 Ohm, at 4 Ohms the subs are sleeping as the total output is 300 RMS from the amp and at 1 Ohm no matter how its tuned , it is overheating. Besides the Dude is kind of a bass head. Hence he needs more power coming out of the setup, so he needs a change.
Cheers.

Can you do a banglore delivery ? I am willing it take it if you can, provided the condition of speaker is as good as new.
