Hope you paid by credit or debit card and not by bank transfer! If the last, am unsure of your recourse.

If by card, raise the dispute NOW - you can always pay them again once their customer care deigns to answer your calls.

Raise the issue with your bank ASAP and see if there is anyway to get the payment rescinded. Generally it can be done with a CC. Harder with a bank transfer or debit card. If you were lucky enough to be able to get the money back, then am sure the customer care will suddenly care enough to answer phone calls.

One more question, who did you buy these products from. Polco themselves or some reseller. Try and find out about the provenance of the seller.

The Indian website for Polco India lists Reliance Autozone as their retail partner. If you're still considering buying the sun blinds, you could drop by a Reliance Autozone and buy them but ONLY after a thorough inspection.

You would also have to clarify with them whether you can return the product at the Reliance outlet itself if there's any defect and not have to deal with the company because they've shown no inclination or commitment to customer care or respecting consumer rights. However, I've read of Bhp-ians who have used other Polco products like the Tyvek cover and are quite happy with it, though I'm not sure whether they dealt with a reseller or the company directly.

I trust online shopping only for a certain range of products, like Memory cards or drives or any computer accessories from flipkart.
For Stuff like My Studds i prefer going to my friends store itself as i need to try them first, same is true with clothes.

I bought a lot of things from Amazon through their global shipping. They ship using Fedex/DHL/Aramex.

At the time of final payment customs duty is calculated by Amazon and the same is collected from you as "Import duty deposit" at the time of final payment. If the actual duty paid the courier is less the duty collected from you the difference will be refunded to your account as credit after 45-60 days.

There is no way to save on duty if you opt for AmazonGlobal shipping.

Did the monthly grocery shopping via bigbasket.com this month. Quite happy with the experience. Right from ordering to communication and delivery. One negative noticed within the scope of things we ordered was that there was not much choice in the rice category.

Probably slightly more expensive than buying from Total/Big Bazaar etc... But considering the time and money spent in commute and parking not to mention dealing with the crowds and queues and the fact that as you walk around in a hyper market, you tend to pick up quite a few items not in your original list, I felt it was worth it. Based on couple of posts in this thread, I opted for cash on delivery to ensure that I would not end up with store credit if any item was missed.

Wife was a little disappointed since the whole process finished in 15 min and did not give her an 'I did shopping' feel :D
