Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

1. I wish to go on a long drive, lay down on beach sand looking at the sunset while waves be my orchestra.
2. I wish to see & hug my family & close friends/relatives. This is a distant dream but I wish.
3. I never though I would say this but I miss going to office even if it means spending 45 minutes for 10 kms of drive so office it will be as soon as it opens.
4. Start Gymming.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

D-R-I-V-E is the only option I can think of when India will come-out of this Covid-19 situation and when all restrictions will be over.

I am DESPERATE to take my Nexon on a long drive

I would like to…

1) Take my car out on a highway for long family tour. Since I bought new car in Feb 2020, I could not take her on a highway.
2) Take pit stop at any nice place and take some snaps of the car
3) Head towards any clean beach, enjoy the water

Life was so good before this Covid-19 pandemic. I really pray that world would come out this situation soon.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Excellent thread. I've read everyone's bucket list, even i wanted to do most of these and will do, after i get my new car. But even after lockdown, i will wait one-two full month(s) just to make sure Corona numbers arent causing 2nd wave.

Please dont get me wrong, but here is my take(personal view): Lockdown is something we've imposed on ourself or by government. Just because lockdown is complete, doesnt mean we've medicine/vaccine is ready or we became immune to this deadly virus.

My bucket list:
Long drive to visit my fav temples.
A week vacation at any hillstation.
Take my toddler to his fav places,
Take my family to our fav restaurants.

Its just, i want to do my bucket list in peace.!

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

RIDE!!! Been craving to take my Inty out on the highway, would certainly go for a longish ride post lockdown.
Go out with wife on a nice small vacation again on the bike.
A nice drive on the Mumbai-Pune expressway once the monsoon starts.
A house party with friends.
These are the only things I am craving to do right now since all the nice food that we were missing has been taken care of given my cooking hobby.
And I am also not missing a lot on the usual weekend outing to the Pubs, lounges, restaurants etc since "beverages" have now been taken care of at home.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Like every other T-BHPian. D-R-I-V-E.
1. Gonna take both my cars out together.
2. Revv it to the redline. (On an empty stretch of course; safety first)
3. Can’t wait to drive in the rain. Splash the water and make the car filthy. And click some photos.
4. Come rain or shine. I always love going to the beach. Breathe in the fresh air.
5. Take the longer way home. Why not?

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Just to do the one thing that is absolutely not possible now - "TRAVEL" and see as much places as possible.
I have been postponing many trips for quite some time (before the pandemic), now I have realised that the perfect time was not coming in the future, it was the present itself.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

1) One day picnic with family to a secluded beach.
2) Drive to Ladakh or Spiti (depending on whether the passes are open).
3) Some sports with decent social distancing.

My kids have jotted amusement parks, KFCs and Pizza Huts in their lists. To each, his/ her own I guess.

Excellent Thread!

1. Preferably a One day trip to Mullayangiri with packed home cooked food in boot.
2. Waiting for Premier league to kickstart and watch Liverpool win the league.
3. Buy some basic strength training equipments.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Here is my post-lockdown list:

1. Visit favorite restaurants and malls with the family
2. Go for a short and sweet drive
3. Get back to playing badminton daily (we will start playing tomorrow)
4. Get dressed formally and step out of the house (not sure where to because I'll be working from home for a long time)

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Mine is going to be the total opposite of all you folks. My post lock down bucket list is to sit at my office or home and not go anywhere.

Our's is an agriculture and horticulture company and we have been bombarded with orders because people found time to stay put and start gardening. Since there were no couriers we had to deliver the orders on our own. I personally was on the roads, with permissions of course, for at least 6-7 hours a day in my humble Hexa.

We are really lucky to have a great team to who stuck by us. We followed all the rules like sanitizing, masks, distancing etc. from very early on in the lock down because of some great guidance given by uncle who is works for J&J and is on the vaccine development team.

I just wish we find a vaccine or the virus feels ashamed of itself for its behavior and just stops multiplying!

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

My Laura tsi is parked at my office parking at hyderabad while I am at Bengaluru. I've been delaying the beautification work on that car. So, here is the plan
  • Basic service and another Hyderabad-Bangalore drive.
  • RS bumper, spoiler and a spa (for car)
  • Stage 1 remap.

Beyond this, I am going to travel more for sure.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

There are many bucket list items. A few of them are:

- First and foremost is to visit a temple with the family. Of course with all due care as parents are 70+ years old.

- desperately want to go on a long drive. However, will have to hold on the urge for now as I there is a new born kid in the family. I am grounded for atleast another year.

- Have to get some house renovation work completed. But wondering if I should wait until the rainy season is over.

As I am typing, a sudden realisation has occurred. I am not even able to think of something which I want to do just for the fun of it! Guess this is the new normal for me. Only the most important and unavoidable will take the precedence.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Here in the states, there is no lockdown as such, but there is no reason to step out of the house unless essential. Yes, one can do a long drive and come back, but how often? People are craving for a change in current routine. Could be eating out, working out or just plain office environment.
A foodie cousin of mine has eating street food on top priority.

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

I have a different view. Many not like it and many would think that this is very negative thinking but here goes ::

1. Setting up a doomsday fund which can be liquidated very easily without long lock-in periods. One thing I have realised in this past 2 months is, cash in hand makes you the king to get things done. Despite all government efforts of digital economy.

2. Find alternative source of income apart from my IT job.

3. Find and keep relocation options open as a backup plan. I have noticed that tier 2 and tier 3 cities are fairing pretty well as compared to the supposedly modern metros with better infra.

Regards
Ritesh

Re: Post-Lockdown Bucket List - What are you looking forward to doing?

Only one single thing at the top of the list.

1. D-R-I-V-E

Both my cars have been parked in the same spot for the past 60 days. Last drive for the Punto was on 22nd March and the Innova on 23rd March. Raring to hit ECR for atleast 100kms to and fro in both the cars, back to back on the same day.

Brought home the Punto in Nov 2019 and had just ~100kms left to 6k kms before lockdown began. Missing her the most.
