Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

Yeah, I know we have an older thread on this topic, but most of the forums discussed there are dead already.

Which other forums are you regular on? As a guy who is big on discussions & communities, I'm a huge fan of:

Reddit. Absolutely love Reddit's community and frequently go there to read up on any topic that interests me at the moment. They really have anything & everything. Once you understand the chaos, you'll know how to find the gems.

Jalopnik. Regular reader of their discussions & it helps me keep a finger on the pulse of the USA car market. Jalopnik is what it is only because of the comments section.

FerrariChat. Very, very high quality discussions on sports cars & luxury cars from actual owners of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens etc.

Curbside Classic for their terrific community comments! If you want to read about older cars, look no further. They have some amazing content on old German, European & Japanese beauties.

I read up on Quora, have recently started Reddit.

I somehow also spend a lot of time on LinkedIN.

No other forums.

Not a regular visitor, but Reddit app is installed on the phone as a quick reference for any topic of interest.

Browse through Reddit and Quora occasionally. And maybe a couple others, when bored beyond redemption. A word of caution about Reddit though, for those of you who might not be too familiar with it - you could find almost anything there. And I mean anything. From the normal, to the insane, to the weird, and the absolutely disgusting. It’s only slightly less disturbing than 4chan. So exercise caution if you don’t want to be caught by surprise.

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

1. Quora (which is becoming pretty junk 'cos of Quora Partner Program)
2. Reddit (good-weird-horrible-stupid-NSFW all combined in one)
3. Medium -Started as a "better" version of Quora without the stupidities but now has all sort of articles. Haven't upgraded to paid version
4. Stack Exchange (a collection of sites. Not StackOverflow). Useful for queries on English language, Math, automobiles, etc. Ask and you shall receive

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

I use Reddit and Stack Exchange quite often.

Reddit: Just follow the right subreddits and it will be good for information on any topic.

Stack Exchange: A very well moderated network of websites with great answers. I mainly read the science and math sites, and also the tech and language related communities sometimes.

This is true for Reddit if you browse without login. Some of the default subreddits are truly repulsive! This is why it is best to create a login and subscribe to only those subreddits where you have active interest. Otherwise it is all cats and how Donald Trump is bad everywhere, with casual yuckiness thrown here and there.

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

I used to visit Quora very often, used to write answers also, still have the 'Top Writer 2018' badge on the profile. Not very frequent anymore.

Minicarnama, this is a new forum for Scalemodel collectors, it is still in very nascent stage but good to have a dedicated Indian forum for us collectors.

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

I tried Reddit but it is not very newbie friendly so gave up.

When I was preparing for my MBA entrance exams (2004), I used to be a regular on PaGaLgUy. It was a fantastic forum then, but I believe it changed a lot once it was commercialized. Lost interest somewhere around 2006-07.

Log into BCMTourring off and on, but not very regular.

IndianRealEstateForum - I used it for a while when I was house hunting. Not any longer.

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

Totally dedicated to Team-BHP. It has everything I need to browse and read.

Beyond this, I occasionally browse Quora.

Earlier (5-6 years back), I used to be active on XBHP but don't remember the last time I logged in.

BCMTouring - very occasionally like once in a few months.

Think Digit/Techenclave - Again occasionally!

Re: Other than Team-BHP, which forums are you a fan of?

ValuePickr - Good Curated Stock Market Discussion. Active mods and zero tolerance for spam / low value posts

MishTalk / IndianPunchline- Global Economics / Diplomacy blogs

Reddit - Front page is good to scroll. Wholesome memes subreddit is definitely the best place on the internet. Just rolled into the shop subreddit is one TeamBhp would enjoy

AutoGeek has pretty good tutorials and info regarding auto detailing methods and products. I do refer to it sometimes.

Installed reddit recently. And rarely VWvortex & xda-developers
