Mr. DIY - Do It Yourself store opens in India-aboutus.jpg

The first store was opened in December '19 in Infinity mall, Malad, Mumbai.
Since then, they have opened stores in Kurla, Thane (3 nos.), Kharghar, Nala Sopara and Pune (2 nos.).
I have personally visited the Kharghar store and found it very good. Loads of tools, car accessories and stationary available.

MR.DIY first opened one store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July 2005 and has now grown to become the largest home improvement retailer in the region with stores across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and now India.
They have 1000+ stores all over Asia, including 600+ in Malaysia.

All MR.DIY stores are managed directly and in collaboration with large retailers and mall owners. With ten categories — Hardware, Household, Electrical, Furnishing, Car Accessories, Stationery & Sports, Toys, Gifts, Computer & Mobile Accessories and Jewellery & Cosmetics — in each store, MR.DIY offers a wide selection of more than 14,000 types of products at some of the lowest prices on the market.

Website: https://www.mrdiy.co.in

Note: I am in no way connected to the store.

They will. They started in Dec.'19 and then Covid came. Slowly but steadily they are spreading. Currently they have nine stores in the Mumbai - Pune area. The 9th store was started in Pune in August this year. Hope to see more.

Thanks for sharing this news ruzbehxyz. The website looks good and will be visiting the showroom soon. I was thinking of ordering a tool-set through Amazon, but buying from this store seems to be better.

I am sure they will come up with more stores, especially in the metropolitan cities. It is obvious that Covid has slowed down the opening of future stores.

Seems to be the dollar store going by the google pics. Wondering which brands feature in these shops. I think it has the potential to be a huge hit like big bazaar.

I have visited the Kharghar, Navi
Mumbai's store and its not that huge as compared to other DIY stores. For cars, there were basic car accessories like cleaning, polishing, some car mats, etc. All this stuff is available on Amazon and Flipkart, but here you can see and decide. Besides this there were loads of tools, kitchen and bathroom accessories, stationary etc. Overall, I found most of the things cheaper than online websites.

Re: Mr. DIY - Do It Yourself store opens in India

This is great news. I was a regular at these stores back in Kuala Lampur few years back.

Purely based on my experience, these stores do have a lot of variety of goods but i'm afraid the quality was not as good as expected and comparable to the cheap chinese stuff available for sale online.

Please buy at your own discretion

Thanks. Yes most of the products seem Chinese. But thats part of our everyday purchase. Most of the things that we buy in a departmental store has Chinese or products made from Chinese components. A typical clothes dealer, imports from China and puts a "Made in India" tag. Even some of the Samsung phones (Made in Korea) come with Chinese chargers. If you go to any normal stationary shop, 90% of the goods will be Chinese. That's how it is. In view of the current political situation, I do not want to debate this topic, as that will take the discussion to another level.

I think such stores as the name suggests - Do It Yourself, is good for non professional people, who want to do some minor jobs at home, using powered and non powered tools. The variety of tools is good.

I think the website is just for people to have a rough idea. Since they do not sell online like Amazon, they have not listed any products.
