An Appeal !! - Safeguarding the interest of motorists

Hello all,

The more i read about : pedestrian killed in a road accident and the driver had to give XXX amount in compensation. . . just was wondering is there any law that safeguards the interest of motorists.
I mean we have go through all kinda of difficulties, bad roads, heavy taxation, worse pedestrian behaviour, but still we bear the brunt of all the mess ups everywhere.

So wanted to know the follwoing
1) IS there any law which safegaurds interests of us motorists
2) Will our collective wealth of knowledge or if anyone of us has some really highly placed contacts . . can we help our fellow bhpians in distress.

In this way we can start a kind of revolution, in due course of time we can be the face and mouth of indian motorists.

Mods kindly advice.

Cheers
