This gives you more details on the first solar boat that was commissioned. it was a runaway success. more such boats were ordered based on its success

The waterways if maintained properly can be put into good use. its the cheapest way of goods transport. Kerala has a very good network of inland waterways and backwaters which if put to good use can be a great acheivement.

It looks like the project in the first phase will go through my current city of domicile (Kochi) until my native place (Chavakkad). Will definitely make one of my next trips back home in this boat. Would've loved it if they had some sort of Jangar (Vehicle+People carrier) service since then I won't have to ask my cousins to pick me up and drop me off when I reach the final station.
