Nothing attached to IRVM in my cars. I also don't prefer sticking diety on dashboard (I am not an atheist). So both my cars have stock IRVM and dashboard setup. But I have dashcams in both my cars attached to front windscreen towards the passenger side.

I have flying lord Hanuman hanging from my IRVM

There is absolutely nothing on my car's IRVM. I like to keep my car clean and in stock condition. I do not allow any stickers on the body of the car as well ( like the ones service centres paste on the boot of the car after servicing).

I like to keep my car as the manufacturer intended it to be.

I have the fastag affixed on the passenger side, but apart from that there is nothing on my windshield.

It really is the worst when you are in another person's car with unnecessary things hanging from the IRVM or lying about in the storage spaces. Neither can I say something about it nor can I tolerate it. It sounds quite petty but I am so glad to see a thread with people sharing the same abhorrence for this.

A clean cabin, no rattle producing items lying around, nothing hanging from IRVM blocking your view. That is the *only* way in my opinion.

I'm completely against hanging bits from the IRVM and also anything stuck on the dashboards.

My cars never have anything hanging on the IRVM. Nor have I ever had any item placed/pasted on the dashboard top. No gods, idols, no figurines, toys nothing. In my opinion -
  1. Anything hanging on the IRVM = further reduced visible area outside + distraction thanks to a moving item. I look into the IRVM and ORVM a lot. Probably more than I do out the windshield! So I don't need such items here.
  2. Items on the dashboard - are potential harmful projectiles in case of a collision. More so - in case of airbag-deployment. The items can get thrown at the driver/passenger in case of a high speed crash causing severe injuries. So no - nothing on dash. I have quite an OCD about a clean dashboard.

I am not a fan of those hanging fancy items. This is on my Fiesta, I like to keep the IRVM clear of any obstacles.

Seems like I am an antithesis of the general trend here lol:

My IVRM has the following:

1. Chain made of red sandal beads.
2. A Rosery
3. A miniature elephant caparison
4. A Deadpool figurine

Also, have my dashcam stuck under IVRM.

My dashboard has a Ganapathi Idol, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Krishna stickers.

Oh, and for a good measure, I have an almost transparent Michael Schumacher signature also on my front windshield.

A pic of my IVRM and windshield:

I have never felt that any of these are a distraction while driving.

Unlike many I find it very claustrophobic to have a plain cabin. But not a big fan of anything flashy too. I have this rosary and a ganapathy on the dashboard to keep me company. In no way I find them to be distractive.

Absolutely nothing, except for the dashcam underneath the IRVM.

All my cars have Vailankanni Mary statue, apart from the dashcam which are the only extra stuff I have over the dash area.

Storme used to have a rosary hanging from the IRVM, but since it became my primary ride, I removed it as I don't like an oscillating object from the IRVM during movement.

I hate to keep anything on the IRVM. However due to my Mom's religious believe, we have to keep an idol in the car. But i am yet to figure out where to keep it in my Tucson which has a floating type Screen. 🥲

No items on the dashboard or hanging off the IRVM. My earlier cars - Ritz and Swift had an idol on the dashboard but didn't repeat the same during the Creta time.

Hate anything hanging or on the dashboard that comes in my FOV (field of view). Already irritated by the glare of the dashboard on the windshield, adding items will make it worse.

Keep the idol in the glovebox, I've done it in my Nexon.

Older cars had a large vertical distance between the dashboard and roof except for SUVs. I remember in the 90s when the squeaky soft toy making noise were famous and inevitably found in majority of Maruti 800s. My dad was very particular about no loose hanging stuff in the car.
Then during medical college days, had a first gen City in which we hung a stethoscope from the IRVM. It was like a gate pass for us!
Then got a 4th gen City which I’m driving currently. The same couldn’t be done again! The stethoscope which used to hang freely and not cause any distraction now became a nuisance. The high dash designs in current cars have their own advantages and disadvantages. Well now I’m resorting to my dads principle, no loose hangings in the car!

P.S. Now that interior decorations are made illegal in Kerala, will such hangings also be deemed illegal?

Seems like that's the only option left. Because there is no way to put it behind the screen. It will definitely look out of the place.rl:

It's been 4 years and 10 months (52000+ KMS) since I bought this car, I never hang anything to IRVM.
This photo is from last year
