No worries. Many people use these words interchangeably. Billiards is used as a common term but it specifically refers to English Billiards.
English Billiards and Snooker are played on a table which is almost 12 ft x 6 ft. However English Billiards uses only 3 balls where as Snooker uses 22 balls. Since most of the parlours have smaller pool tables, many play Snooker on pool tables as well.
Pool is usually played on tables that are 9 ft x 4.5 ft or 8 ft x 4 ft. Pools has many variations like 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, etc.
I like to watch Snooker followed by Pool. Never really understood English Billiards but from what I have read and heard is if you learn English Billiards first, the skills will be very useful for Snooker and Pool. English Billiards Snooker Variations of Pool
