There was a period in the very near past, I couldn't sit thru an whole movie. I would either FF or exit halfway.

Last week, I managed to watch All 3 parts of Pirates of the Carribean, 300 and Mr. Bean's holiday.

Liked all.

Hostel: Part II.

Bloodyfreakinhell. And no, that wasn't to avoid the 20 character limit!

the blood bath and the mutation of a man' really freaked me out.but i liked hotel 1 had a better story.

@speedzak there was a fake nemo 2 circulating the market which is some cheaply taken animtion movie.

any one seen touristas supposed to be even gross and scary than hostel.

The Holiday - Two women Kate Winslet & Cameron Diaz have love failures and decide to do a home exchange. Yes, two complete strangers exchange their homes, cars etc for two weeks. And finally find love. A very nice jovial movie.

Epic Movie - Silly rip off from other movies. A must avoid. Though the best part of the movie was the fake interpretation of Harrie Potter & Captain Jack Swallows (read Sparrows). Must say that these characters acted fabulous. One could be fooled to believe that it were the real characters themselves.

Finally saw Sivaji The 8055 : The Scorpio turned into a LR wheelie was nice, he chewing gum trick is hilarious and all the fights which defied Newtons law were quite good.

I could see Rajni becoming Neo from the Matrix in the end, lol

One grudge though i dont understand a word of tamil, why the hell couldnot they dub in hindi as well along with other versions?

I watched it yesterday. I quite liked it for what it stands for.

Well, you have to get across the pretty explicit s3x to appreciate the movie. By explicit, I must say this is the closest a regular (even indie) movie is going to ever get to full blown (pun intended) p0rn. Even older "explicit" Indie movies like Ken Park, Brown Bunny (the end) etc don't even come close. I have nothing against gays, but ummm... showing what they do does kinda turn you off (and I have a stronger stomach than most). And this movie dwells on it a whole lot.

The movie is just about that one thing you've always wanted but never got or that one thing you have that you always wanted to get rid of but have never been able to, or that deep sadness about something that has always been there in you that you've never been able to get. The movie shows how for some people, this feeling becomes an all-encompassing thing and envelops everything else in their life. The characters (esp. the gay guy and the "couples' counselor") actually make you really feel bad for them and pity them etc. Its just the context used in the movie (sexuality) that clouds the whole issue.

And the soundtrack is just AWESOME. I loved how it really built the sad/depressed/oppressed ambience of the movie. I'm looking for it right now.

agree: It is good movie..

Other good ones from last week:

Sliding Doors: I got to watch this movie for the first time last week. Really good movie. Falls bang into the "alternate reality" genre. The movie is about how the lead character's (Gwyneth Paltrow) life goes (a) when she misses a train (b) when she manages to catch that same train. Both story-lines integrate so seamlessly without any confusion, you have to really admire the screenplay writer and the director. No discontinuous edits etc. like 21 Grams or Memento. You always know what is happening in what time-line. Nice unpredictable, yet predictable ending. Gwyneth Paltrow looks so fresh and great! Sigh...

Breach: Cloak and daggers stuff done really really well. Real-life story of the biggest mole/traitor ever in the history of the US, and how he was cornered and exposed by a rookie (no spoiler here, they give away the story right in the beginning). Very very engaging, and almost as good as my personal fave of this genre: Spy Game. Starring Ryan Philippe and Chris Cooper.

La Femme Nikita: I love movies by Luc Besson, and this movie was the first one by him I'd seen. Watched it again last week and enjoyed it as much as the first time. I've got the Hollywood version (Point of No Return starring Bridget Fonda) - not watched it yet. This rerun was in prep for that. About a Female druggie who gets sent up for life for murder, who gets recruited by the Govt and trained as an assassin (if you're saying yeah, yeah, so what's new, this was the first movie of its kind, to be shot the way it was). The lead actress (dunno her name) does a great job of metamorphosing from a grubby looking druggie to a suave killer. A really nice watch.

i liked breach as well
thought it would be like the good shepard where i didnt understand a thing

That's because the movie is almost 10 years old.

Ya, I know. Before her ummm... reduction job for Shakespeare in Love. She still looks as good now, but then she looks extra nice in Sliding Doors :)

I liked The Good Shepherd too! Matt Damon was just great as the master plotter. I think they showed how the real spy-work happens in that movie, unlike all those James Bond stunts.

The movie was pretty much like Syriana too.

The movie is a little involved, I know, and I'm sure you'll really love it the second time :)
