Anybody watching True Detective Season 2? Suprised nobody is talking about it?

If you haven't started watching it yet, you can be in peace.
It is nothing compared to the 1st season, the plot seems way too pushed with no storyline build-up whatsoever.
Basically nothing to write home about.

Thanks, honestly, i didn't find the first one too enticing either. For me personally it was only exciting to watch because of its stellar cast & not as much the plot.

Season 1 was good because it gave an insight into the way crimes are solved by real people, warts and all. The cast as you say was stellar. Season 2 seems to be bereft of original content, with the same tired cliches emerging again. Colin Farrell looks lost and the rest of the cast is not up to the mark. Vince Vaughn looks like he might drop the stony facade and break into a comedy routine any moment?
On the plus side it seems to be picking up some momentum episode 4 onwards. So will continue to watch.
@ajay_satpute: True Detective airs on Star World Premium "real time" 6 am Monday with repeats through the week.

On Star World premium too? I thought it was just on HBO Defined @ 6:30 am Monday (= Sunday 9pm US time).
I too agree Season 2 is such a drag. Now that they are starting to piece things together, it has become all the more confusing with so many characters. I already cancelled my HBO Defined/Hits HD subscription.
On a separate note, any of you started to watch Colors Infinity? I was thrilled that FARGO (TV series) is on every Sunday 9pm on this channel. Had watched it earlier but don't mind watching it second time, this time with wife in tow. We will be watching the movie first (available on Netflix - she hasn't watched the movie or TV series earlier) and will then continue with our recording of last Sunday's 3 episodes of the TV series.
Too bad Airtel hasn't started the HD channel so will have to be content with SD version for now.
Started watching Narcos on Netflix on Gannu's suggestion & I am hooked. Looks like an interesting series based on true events in the 80s-90s in South America & USA.
Some new and returning shows have started only one episode out but looks promising.
1. Limitless (S1)
2. BlindSpot (S1)
3. Gotham (S2)
And HomeLand S5 is coming in Oct hope is better than S4.
If you like Michael Bay - Last Ship (S1 and S2) was a good watch.
On my want to watch list
1. How to get away with Murder
2. Orange is the new Black.
Binge-watched "Narcos" on Netflix in 2 days. Totally hooked. What an amazing series, and it's been renewed for season 2, so looking forward to that.
Other shows I'm currently watching:
The Blacklist (S3 starts next week!)
Fear the Walking Dead
Longmire (S4 was released on 10 September on Netflix)
Blindspot
South Park (S19 just started - it's awesome so far)
Rectify (catching up on Season 3)
Gotham

Absolutely loved the episode about Where's My Country Gone?
These guys have a brilliant way of taking current events and highlighting their stupidity!
Re video streaming from Netflix and Amazon -
1) Is the optimum method of accessing Netflix is a paid VPN?
2) Will Netflix accept payment from a credit card issued in India to an Indian billing address. I ask this as Amazon requires a card issued in the US.
Been hooked to Modern family , S1-S6 is going on in Start World - S3 is coming to end.

1. You can use DNS providers like unblock-us.com. No need for VPN. Also VPN slows down your internet connection.
2. Indian credit cards are accepted as I'm using one. You will have to just provide a zip code which can be any zip code during sign up.
Hope it helps.
Edit The above is true for Netflix and Hulu and works perfectly.
Can't wait for Season 6 of TWD to be aired in Oct first week.
Been watching this show since 2011, yet another amazing series from AMC! The makers of Breaking Bad and better call saul! :D
Hi,
Can someone pls provide step by step instructions on how to get to watch Netflix in India.
Regards
Shailesh
I for one liked the Season 2 of True Detective and loved Vince Vaughan. He had the toughest character in the series so far. The script though could have been better. I am not comparing this to Season 1 which was absolutely stellar.
On its own S2 was nowhere near as bad as people are giving it flak for. And yes, I really hope people make up their own minds rather than believing what others say!
Other shows that I watched/currently watching:
1. Mr. Robot - S1 Complete
2. Hannibal - Watching S2
3. Person of Interest - Really a good time pass and feel good series
4. Vikings - S3 Complete
