I think most of us who had pets and lost them will understand the loss. I am one of them. Have faced this 2 times in life. I was so shattered that I decided not to adopt any more.
RIP Duke & Don

N_C I am sorry to hear about your Don.

I met Duke briefly once and he was chilling with his friend, basking in the sun. I am sorry about your loss khaadu.

Khaadu,

I feel your pain. I lost 2 of my dogs - German Shepherds - they were more family members than pets, due to intentional poisoning many years back. It took our family A very long time to come to grip with their loss - probably never. The passing of animals is always way too painful than human loss.

My current boy, Tralfaz (my avatar), is therefore under 24x7 adult supervision and never let out of the house unless any of us are there with him.

But, here's to Duke. Thank you Duke, for the warmth and glow you induced in your guardians family. RIP.

I feel you too man. An ardent dog lover for all of the 38 years of my life. I have had a few instances like this. I wonder why god has given these beautiful creatures such a short life when morons like us live for so long.
RIP Duke

NC,

Sorry abt Don too. 4 months? The sheer innocence and unconditional love animals exhibit makes their loss felt.

Hey man, really SORRY to hear about Duke, my sincere condolences. A pet's passing away leaves such a void, it's indescribable.

May God give you strength to bear this loss, hopefully Duke's out there somewhere, chewing on one juicy bone & at peace with himself.

Take care

RIP Duke. It hurts when your faithful friend leavees you and moves on to the next life. All what is left are fond memories. Its something about them that makes you love them more than human beings most of the time. Cant imagine day without my doggie dearest.

Take care pal. I'm sure hes fine whereever he is

Gautam sorry to hear about Don as well. Kartik told me the other day :(

Guys , Thanx for understanding how it feels when someone who has been so dear moves on and leaves a feeling of hollowness . But then Im sure he is out there in some big field taking care of some more kittens and playing with a lot of other dogs !!!

The thing I forgot to mention was that he was found dead at about 12 at night after being searched for over 3 hrs . I dunno if you guys are aware of it or not but when a dog passes away naturally , he will go away from his abode/home to die . Its a natural thing but have always wondered why they do it ??

Anyways , he's been cremated and the same spot will have a tree planted in memory of him . It's something we do for all our dogs that move on after sharing their un conditional love with us .

Sam@ that pic is my fav ..... but now its gonna stay as my desktop for a long long time , all thanx to the lil message u put on it . Thanx man .

Thanx guys ....

Cheers
