Is bescom payment working with gpay?

Earlier it was showing unavailable until 19th march and now tried removing and re-linking it is not working.

So used paytm. (It has atrocious user charge using card)

Any other recommendations for bescom payment ?

Bescom payment via Amazon pay & Airtel thanks had issues as well in the same time period.
Try using the Karnataka one portal (has an app and a desktop site www.karnatakaone.gov.in ) to make the payment. It is very reliable.

All ESCOMs had maintenance and upgrade works going on for a while and hence were either inaccessible or only partly available. They must be up and running by tomorrow.

As the systems were all down, BESCOM seems to have waived off the late fee for this month.

Paid BESCOM bill yesterday via Amazon Pay. Went through successfully.

Exactly and that's why I am asking if anyone has seen a flow similar to what Paytm-PPBL savings offered with their one touch UPI authorization since Paytm and PPBL had integrated their authorization for a seamless experience.
.

I use the UPI Lite in Paytm app. Can load upto Rs.2000 and pay max Rs.500. This is much quicker than the Paytm wallet and Paytm payment bank links.

Thanks, tried UPI Lite on Paytm and it solves my problem to some extent by providing a password-free authorization for small value transactions as you mentioned.

Is BHIM going the BSNL way?

Having shunned all private ones in favour of this government sponsored app, I sometimes doubt if it has been an error of judgment on my part. It works when it does, but goes AWOL sporadically. Very often I am unable to login and when I do, I am not able to scan/input recipient details. Castled by this unpredictable behavior, I am compelled to carry adequate cash to all my errands.

The NCPI should work on making the app fluid, convenient and fast. Else, users will invariably shift to other viable alternatives.

GPay, it's quick & easy to use, allows me to add credit cards as well, can pay from Rupay credit card to merchants.

I have had a weird nagging issue where BHIM wouldn't let me allow to login over my home wifi network. But then it got resolved and is working again as normal. Though things are slacking off, in the recent past.

For instance; it takes ages with some QR like Paytm for the payment to process. There's this interesting bug that displays the QR is invalid , if I make a payment over 500 without logging in, while it should display the message that it will not allow payments greater then 500 if not logged in.

I still use because I believe this has the best UI. Unlike cluttered mess of PhonePe (the worst in my opinion) and Paytm. I'm also fed up by the useless vouchers Google Pay "rewards" me, that made me feel I'm better off without those shenanigans. Google Pay is only used when BHIM refuses to behave.

Guys, facing a problem with PhonePe Wallet.

When I open the wallet, it comes to the (auto) top-up screen and I dont see any other option. I have checked with support, and they say they say that Min-KYC is done.

1. Is auto top-up a must to be able to use the wallet ?
2. Can some one please share the screen of the wallet ?

Guys, after Paytm took out a TPA license, it is nudging old customers to create new upi handles. But the new handle is default yourmobile@pthdfc or yourmobile@ptsbi etc. which I do not like. I do not prefer handles that have mobile number in it.

I tried few other apps and it seems everyone is forcing customer to go with mobile number handles. Amazon Pay, BHIM, Payzapp etc. I tried google pay that does not need mobile but it has different issue. It uses your login name, which in my case is bit long and again adds some -1 at the end. Plus it creates 4 of them, some of them have-1 at the end, some don't. You have to remember it exactly so that you can enter it on any online payment site to trigger UPI payment. Again google pay does not allow customization of UPI id.

When UPI was started, the idea was not to share personal details like name, number, bank account etc. Looks like they have done away with this idea.

Any other apps where I can create a custom id?

I am not clear if moving to the new Paytm handle is mandatory? Will @paytm stop working after sometime?
----
True about the initial promise of anonymity of UPI handles. Long time back, I had created an UPI handle <myname>@icici on the ICICI website linked to my ICICI bank account. Though I have not used this for payment/receipts for quite sometime now, I can still see this as active in the ICICI iMobile app. If you have an ICICI bank account, see if you can still create a anonymized one.

I had problems with Paytm, leading to duplicate payments, 3 times in the last 5 days :unhappy. The screen showed "Payment processing" for about 3-4 minutes, and out of frustration I ended up paying cash. The debit happened after 10-15 minutes. Luckily, these incidents happened in my neighbourhood stores for minor amounts (<100 Rs.), and they refunded the amounts after verifying.

Anybody else seeing similar issues this week? Or is it a problem with the @Paytm handle? I have not switched over yet to one of the new handles. I have been an early adopter of Paytm (even before UPI) and have been satisfied till now. But problems 3 times in 5 days is a bit too much.

I switched to phonepay. It allowed me to create a custom handle for each of my the bank account and for my RUpay credit card. (I have linked only one back account in phonepay )

BHIM does allow you to create whatever@upi VPA. Just that it by default creates 9876543210@upi, but you can disable it later on, after you create your custom one.

I guess the same UX is implemented by the other apps as well.

(Btw, paying someone by just knowing their mobile number is the original USP of UPI. To facilitate this, in BHIM you can map your mobile number to a VPA).
