Scam related to Team-BHP Classifieds - Posts moved to a new thread.

34 Million Dollars in bank and out to buy a 12 year old used swift.

These kind of scams/mails are common from a very long time on most classifieds sites. Just the names and narrative changes. It is always fun reading their emails finding mistakes. Once Kumara Mangalam Birla wanted to buy my used laptop on Olx or Quikr. By the way, the bank domain also is probably owned by the scammer, it was registered in Nov 2024.

.

I agree. People that advertise themselves like that don't need further introduction. Unfortunately, I don't think TeamBHP can do anything about it.

I'm not sure how TeamBHP checks sellers credentials when posting a car for sale. In all honesty, other than being a member ai doubt there is any checks at all. But you can't prevent all the whackos and the scammers to respond to an add that is in the public domain.

I tried once and found that generally the first couple of mails are written by BOTs. Only if you seem like a vulnerable customer after a few rounds back and forth and start to look serious by sending your details and confidential information like ID number etc., will the human scammer start to take over from the BOT agent. So you will be scamming the BOT for a while. Now with Gen AI and AI agents, the scammers may have automated almost all steps and may be celebrating their "zero touch cash in our bank" type transactions:) And giving their managers OKRs on efficiency improvements and headcount reduction.

Welcome to online selling, The Pirate Bay. Scams are happening everywhere these days and the popularity of the Team-BHP classifieds makes it a lucrative target for the scammers as well.

The best practice is not to share the primary/ official email address and phone number with any customer approaching through an online portal.

Sharing a small joke: The dude (and his gang) pretending to be Pretty Erika and her bank manager on the other side of the computer: lol:

It’s funny how many times the scammer has mention $34 million in her deposit amount in every email. rl:

I was wondering where’s the scam here, until I saw the message you got from the bank for account opening charges lol:

And crypto as acceptable payment.. Text on WA :D

I had my car listed for sale on Team BHP classifieds in Feb 25 and did encounter Erika. Didn’t engage much but he/she did send me their image in order to trust their offer before I blocked the email :)

They seem to be pretty confident. Should raise in Cyberportal.

I have also received a mail from the same scamster.

Same, it gets a lot more satisfying the more annoyed they get.
