My weight loss transformation recently helped me to successfully complete the Sabarimalai yatra with Irumudi. What else can I ask for from the almighty? My daily routine of walking helped me to cover the yatra to the hilltop very comfortably. I have planned for the Ahobilam yatra in 2025.

Thank you. Key things for any person to be healthy are to reduce carbohydrate intake, avoid sugar, maida, and white rice, and eat less outside. . |

What a story! I've been surprised time and again here on tbhp, when I've found incredible posts, and yours is certainly one of them! I'm no stranger to weight loss myself, owing to a tendency to very easily and quickly take on weight. While my gains and losses are but a drop in the bucket compared to your effort, my weight has swung between 63 and 78 kg, and I'm a mere 165 cm. Like GTO pointed out, I too swear by 16:8 intermittent fasting and that's worked wonders for me in the past, and has been delivering in spades now, as I'm working my way down the weight again.
A couple of things stuck out from your posts, apart from your incredible resolve and determination, and one of them is how easy it is to miss glaring red-flags when it comes to problematic aspects of ones diet. In one of your first posts in this long and informative thread, you note that you made the weight loss "with no food restrictions or diet plans", but subsequently mention that you used to consume 8-10 cups of coffee which you gave up. I'm assuming that you didn't consume sugarless coffee; a cup of regular coffee with milk and sugar contains anywhere between 35 to 75 calories, and if assume a value nearer to the lower range, say 45 calories, and multiply that by 10, that's almost a whole meal's worth of calories, in just the coffees. And when you eliminate all of that as you've done, that it itself makes a huge difference, and many people fail to observe this or account for this. Now you've eliminated a whole meal's worth of calories from your daily diet, even without using any dietary substitute, but when you also change two meals to a low calorie shake, you have made a huge dietary change, a very long, long way away from being able to actually claim "no food restrictions or diet plans". I'm not taking anything away from your achievement, but I wished to point this out so it could be more apparent to others who like me amazed by your incredible journey.
Any change in what you eat (or don't eat), or even when you eat or don't eat makes a substantial change, and ultimately, it's up to each and everyone of us to choose whatever works best. I didn't want to consume any meal substitutes or shakes, and still continue to have two normal meals without having to dramatically decrease portion sizes or restrict myself to what I could eat, so I decided that for me, it's intermittent fasting that works best. I have tried in the past to skip my breakfast, while consuming lunch and dinner, but I realized that the other two meals had to have greater time offsets compared to my family. This meant that I could never have a meal with my family together. While this isn't in itelf the end of the world, it was not ideal for me, so I ended up cutting out the dinner instead. Now, the time offsets are minimal/negligible so my wife can easily make a minor change so we all get to eat together again, twice a day, when I'm home.
I've always taken my coffee black and without sugar, and I've cut down my caffein intake successively, from 5-6 cups a day, to 3, then 2, and now to 1! I love my morning coffee, but I've now cut out everything else, and it works great. Continue to inspire others, and I hope to write my own post too, soon!
It was exactly a year ago that I had done a roundabout walkathon to Malleswaram from my home, covering more than 35 km on a sunny day! Today it was a similar exercise as I walked down from Chamundi Hills to my home in JSS layout, covering 13 km in two hours on a very hot day in Mysore. It's been almost 4 months that I have stopped using Herbalife products every everyday and have focused on right eating habits and maintaining my walking activity without any other thoughts. So, I can now safely say that once you reach your target, just sustain it with determination.
