Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

Voted for both. I prefer analog wall clocks. For wrist watch, I prefer the ana-digi combo like the Casio AW 80 that I use.

Watches
Analog all the way! Nothing classier than a good high end Swiss watch on the wrist. I've tried the Samsung watch, but given my extensive traveling, couldn't live with another device to charge and then leave my watch collection idle.

Clocks:
Analog for my house. Again it comes down to having a good Swiss branded clock on the wall.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

I always loved digital watches from childhood. I do wear a mix depending on mood.

Surprisingly, I like smartwatch only for the watch face customization. Too bad Amazfit doesn't have a whole lot.

I just don't like the one with red, because I've seen it across temples in TN since childhood.

Aah yes, forgot to add. They double up as bedroom night lamp too!

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

Always been a fan of analog watches/clocks. If I remember correctly, my first watch was a Casio digital and after that it was always analog watches. A few years back, got into the Smart watch bandwagon with Apple Watch 6 (for health tracking), but was alternating between my other watches. But all of that changed after getting the Apple Watch Ultra – for the past two years (almost), the other watches are left almost unused. I would like to go back to the analog watches, but its pretty hard at this moment to pick those over the watch ultra

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

99% Digital watch for me, 1% may be I will wear an analogue someday, not sure though.

It's been almost a decade since I got glued to the Apple watch from series 1 onwards. Since then, It has become an extended part of me, Never looked back at any of my analogue watches ever. Infact I have even forgot the count and they might be biting the dust somewhere. Keeping them only for emotional reasons as most of them have been gifted.

The only grouse that I have with smart watch, is to charge it almost on daily basis, I wish the battery could last at-least for a week.

For Clocks - Definitely antique analogues, they look pleasing to eye and gives a unique vibe.

Voted analogue. I always love the amount of customisation and craftsmanship that can be put into the dial of an analogue watch/clock. Plus, it's nice to see physical needles moving!

Here's the Titan I wear.

While I'd always favour analogue, I have nothing against digital. I appreciate their no-nonsense nature and I'd pick up a fitness band/fitbit for functionality any day. I also have a hand-me-down watch that has a National Geographic logo with an analogue-digital combo; it's proven to be quite handy while also still looking the part.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

Never bought a clock, maybe my Alexa device could count as a clock. But for wristwatches, I have always been an analog evangelist. Watchmaking is an art and I believe since watches are the most common form of jewellery for men, the craftsmanship cannot be discounted by technology. Every person should have atleast one timeless mechanical watch that they cherish their entire life. My dream watch is the Cartier Santos. That being said, for daily use, it's hard to beat the convenience of my Apple Watch. It's comfortable and has a lot of functionality.

Analog for me for official and party wear. Digital is only during walking when I use the cellular with Bluetooth.
Nothing catches attention of others to your wrist like an analog watch.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

Its Analog any day for me. I am not a big fan of touch screen on hand i feel a bit suffocated with touch screen all around, one less touch screen is a bit better.

I have collection of three watches (Titan, Fossil and Swatch) all of them analog.

But one does miss out on health tracking.

my brother found out a middle ground and gifted me this watch "Amaze Fit Neo", love the retro digital look with basic dot-matrix LCD screen.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

I used Apple Watch extensively for almost 5 years and now, I am bored of it. I have started finding it very intrusive. I have made my shift back to the Analog watches.

I only use Apple watch as a fitness tracker during the workout session or morning jogs.

Going by the present trend, I may soon start using a tracker ring along with Analog watch.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

I voted analog too. I just find it "easier" to read, maybe because I was used to the positioning of the hands. For example, "08:48" in digital takes me a while to process, whereas the positioning of the hands is instantaneous info relayed (if that makes any sense)

Aesthetically too, I think there are watches out there that are simply magnificent to admire (though most are out of financial reach). I find most digital watches a pale comparison. Note : just my own opinion and no offence to digital lovers, there is enough room for all tastes !

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

Voted for analogue. Even within that, I prefer mechanical watches. It has just been a habit since adolescence that I am simply unable to shake off even when one has a mobile phone available always. A watch on the wrist is a necessity; its like ones wedding ring - the absence is immediately registered by the mind!

And then an event happened when I was travelling to the US. The battery of my (relatively cheap) Titan watch ran out; paid almost 50% of the price of the watch to replace the battery urgently. Since then, I use reliable old school mechanical watches while travelling.

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

After a long time wearing watches with needles, G-Shock dragged me into the needles + digital combination and several GShocks later.

This happens.

I like a good Automatic winding watch , I do have one but it needs some polishing to bring it back to glory. All in good time I guess.

Almost all senior citizens in the family have a smart watch gifted by their kids, I'm not sure why

Re: Analog Vs Digital Watches & Clocks | Your preference?

If this question was posted a couple of years ago - "None of the above" would have been my answer. Hate any extra equipment on my body. However, for the past couple of years have been using Apple Watch.
