If this is your first car with smartkey -> Keep smartphone and smartkey in separate pockets. If the battery on the smartkey is weak, smartphone signals will interfere with a smartkey's RF signals. Worse case scenario is the door will not open and/or engine will not start.

You mentioned you carry two car keys together. Although I am the only driver, I keep both keys separate and carry only the required key. However, I often carry my home lock key along with my car keys. In such cases, I keep the car keys in the tiny pocket of jeans and lock keys in the normal pocket. Yes, most of the times my set of house keys are also with me. That as a practice always goes into the glove box because that will be taken out only when I will be back home.

I keep both car keys together because just in case I decide to take the other car than planned saves me the hassle of going back up and retrieve the other key set.

I use an organizer that sits in the cup holder below the driver armrest. It has a compartment for the car key as well as the mobile or wallet.

I like it because it sits snug and doesnt move around.

I have a digital key, which is very convenient, of course. However, I also keep the smart card as a backup. You never know if your mobile might run out of battery or malfunction, leaving you stranded. So, I keep the smart key in my wallet and the spare one in my wife’s wallet.

In my Pant Pocket. It remains there throughout the day. Now I have Sonet, during Estillo era too I used to keep the key in my pocket. Being a Newbie I am unable to vote in the poll.

During my office commute, it will always be in pant pockets. I do not trust myself to remember getting the keys while getting out of the car after getting used to the keyless entry and push button start feature. My phone and the wallet is kept in their designated storage space in the car while driving though. It is mostly due to the fact that my muscle memory is so tuned to pick these two from the car before getting out, but got used to the habit of keeping car keys in the pant pocket.

But if I'm out for shopping or doing regular errands, I generally have my sling back to carry my wallet, phone, keys and other miscellaneous items as I'm not fond of stuffing the trouser/short pockets with all these. So once I step out of the car, mobile and the car keys goes in it with the rest of the sundry items the entire duration. Same goes during road tripping as well.

Curious question: how many times have you decided on the fly to drive a different car than planned? If I think about myself, the chances of taking a different car than planned after reaching the parking lot are very low for me (maybe once or twice a year). However, I would be sceptical about keeping both car keys together because if they get misplaced or something similar happens, both keys would be lost together, and I feel that's risky.

I have never once felt the need to take the key fob out of my pocket. Keyless entry has to be one of the most underrated features that we have received in modern cars. I would take keyless entry over 90% of the gimmicks that we get now.

My Hyryder has keyless entry and I mostly keep the key in my pocket but at times keep it in the below slot.

My Verna's keys are pretty soft touch, and also sounds out all kinds of alarms if I temporarily get out of the car with the keys, with engine running. So it's become a habit for me to place it in the cubby hole.

While NOT driving, and I'm somewhere close to the car after locking it (like say a restaurant depending on the layout), it has happened that the keys have got pressed in my pocket and the car has got unlocked. So I take care that I hold the keys till I'm a fair distance away, or make sure there's no chance of the keys getting pressed inadvertently. Looks like a hard key-case is the solution here!

I like my pockets to be empty while driving, unless i am running out for quick errands.

Center console holds my wallet, keys and mobile. before getting out i have a habit of keeping each in their place. phone in left pant pocket, keys in right and wallet in back. Out of habit I guess left hand will grab cellphone right will get keys and wallet.

I always keep the smart key in my pant pocket. On one occasion, I handed the car to our driver and walked away with the key. Poor chap was in a total dilemma - not knowing whether to stop the car or keep it running. Finally he got the courage to call me and tell me that there is no key in the car
